The reason for closing the thread was provided in the last reply from the mod who closed it. Here's a link to that post, in case you missed it:

/forumtopic-887165/why-add-such-violent-non-anime-title-to-catalog?pg=1#49165021

I believe the main rationale was because there is a site news thread dedicated to the announcement of the show, in which discussion about why CR got it and whether or not they should have is taking place, so a separate thread on the topic wasn't needed.

However, I've gone ahead and moved this thread to the Suggestions / feedback forum.

BTW, many of the posts in that site news announcement do explain that Crunchy received this as part of a package deal that allowed them to get several ANIME titles.

it seems they want my post to just not be seen by others. Wonder why?

I don't understand why people are upset about this show being on CR. It's funny as hell.

to some is funny but some others find it offensive for many reasons and also why is this cartoon here on an anime streaming site. while i do want the crunchyroll catalog to grow in anime titles, it worries me to see a tittle that was banned from tv and reduce to youtube streaming on a site that has been well known for its ANIME and Asian content. If we wanted to watched titles like these, we would just go on youtube. and Happy tree friends is not ANIME if you're an anime fan or consider yourself an otaku, you know happy tree friends doesn't belong here.

Did everybody miss the part of this being a package deal to get two other anime shows?

This was done to get other shows that you would like, not to give you HTF

I do consider myself to be an anime fan, though I doubt I'll be following that particular show because it doesn't seem up my alley. I don't see why it shouldn't be streamed here, though.. it's not like adding a show I don't want to watch (happens often) or find offensive (rarer, but does happen) is a bad thing. Easy enough not to add it to my queue.

I've removed a couple of responses. If you want to use this feedback thread to say whether or not you think HTF should be on Crunchyroll and why or why not that's fine.

However this is not an appropriate place for attacking others with the "W" word (nor is any place on CR).

Finally, let's not turn it into a general "are cartoons anime?" thread, as there are other discussion threads for that.

Yes it's anime site, but honestly other things like the Onimusha "Movie" (really just collected cgi scenes from the game) may have gotten another title here as explained. While others like the Hatsune Miku Live Concert even if it's not anime I'm glad crunchyroll picked that up, as i was unable to attend that tour as planned and was great to see all the songs I would've got to see live.
