All religion is false.

Does it matter? No.

People have the freedom to choose to be religious or atheist like myself.

Religion was necessary back in the dark ages and until the era of scientific discovery, it is no longer needed.

Religion provided education and shelter for those who suffered during the days of constant warring kingdoms and armies.

Now days, religion serves as an excuse to exclude one another for trivial reasons.

INB4 "Prove god doesn't exist" I can't prove that he doesn't, just like i cant prove you didn't got abducted by aliens last night.

Do we know for a fact, god doesn't exist? no. Is it probable that he exists? no.. there is a 99.99% chance god does not exist and all religion is false.

No one can say with absolute certainty, that god exists, just like they can't say with absolute certainty he doesn't.

However, I tend to put my beliefs with science, given the fact it has proven many things possible and many things impossible.

This has gotten beyond stale.

Religious people are so defensive when you challenge their beliefs because I believe they deep down-inside know this stuff is nonsense. But they believe in it anyways to get a false sense of security and false sense of superiority to others.

Irony.

Did God create man or did man create God?
Is religion just a setup of constraints on civilzation?

he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear."

I thought this was a site for anime ... I mean seriously we all here love either Anime and Manga or Korean Drama ... This is not a good place to discuss religious stuff ... do it someplace else (if you want)

If you actually challenged your beliefs, you would realize that are not ready to stand up to scrutiny. Most people, who used to be religious, stopped being religious the moment they start to actually critically think, and look at the arguments for atheism and non-belief with a rational and open mind.

So very convenient for you to say I need to challenge my way of thinking. That I should adopt rationality, as defined by you, over any other belief system that does not conform to your belief or lack there of. Don't you think that proselytizing atheism is just as anathema as proselytizing for a formal religion?

It is not an issue of god or no god. It is an issue on the validity of religion, which I think some people have not challenged. There are people who believe in God, but reject religion altogether.

Also I'm not trying to proselytize anyone. I'm just asking you to challenge your beliefs to see if they are valid or not. I don't think most religious people have seriously challenged their beliefs.

You asked a question but the thread just ended up to become a canvas just to spread your opinions over? That makes no utter sense. Also, I don't mind if people dislike a religion but the fact that someone would just push their beliefs over to someone such as "God isn't real", "(Insert Religion) is the true thing", etc; is the most problematic thing, not religion itself.

'pukes blood'

I'm cool with any religious goer who doesn't reject evolution, seeing as evolution is sort of, you know, a quintessential fact.

Your actions speak louder than your words and you ARE trying to proselytize atheism. I make no judgement on you except for what I see here. You have NO idea what I believe because I've not tried to change your mind. I'm just pointing out that you do for atheism what others do for religion. Personally I think opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one and they all stink. So you find a website that you agree with. Good for you. I'm not so shallow that I can be swayed by pretty words. I'll examine the evidence and make my own judgements thank you-very-much. I'll end this by going back to my first message. I respect your right to have whatever opinion you want. Please respect mine to believe what I want. Neither is right nor wrong, but different.

You know I'm actually glad I decided to buy a bag of popcorn from the Target cafe when I got off work. Time to enjoy another forum topic that I have no idea what purpose it's trying to serve other than make us think you think you are more superior than people. I mean come on it's getting very old and annoying.

Also I have challenged my belief and still challenge it. I question and discuss with friends who are and who are not Christian. I've tried asking and answering the tough questions, I got a whole collection of Theology books going and when I can save the money I plan to pick up and read the God Delusion by Dawkins and read other atheistic books. I also read your posts and most of other users when these subjects arise. I watch atheist videos to learn their view point. It's not like I'm blindly accepting my faith. Now i do need to study other religions in more depth, but still currently studying atheism and my own beliefs. As of now from what I have gathered I still hold to my Christian beliefs, but have developed a more deistic mind set.

Edit:Hmm so I guess my comment did go through. CR decided to responded slowly when I submitted my post and I tried to reload it. Well I'm glad I don't have to rewrite it.

Uh, but at the end of the day, God either does or doesn't exist. So there's only one correct answer right? But either nobody will ever find out because ded x.x, or we'll all sh** our pants at the pearly gates before either entering or being cast down to chill with Satan.
