Hello there,

For my long journey I have coming up I would very much like to watch some anime but it seems I would have to buy the separate DVDs as my mobile data bill would go through the roof if I tried to stream it.

Is it possible for premium members to get downloads available or are there licensing issues?

Unfortunately, the CR streaming license is streaming only.. no downloads available Really wish we had that option as well, personally, but the licenses are all online only, as far as I know.

Download-to-own/rent would be a completely different license from streaming rights. It would also require CR to develop or acquire a new infrastructure and software to support DTO, and that would cost a lot of time and/or money to deploy. Especially when it seems like most users are fine with a streaming-only service, and wouldn't necessarily take advantage of downloading episodes legally.

There are some alternative legal services, that do offer downloads, like http://wakanim.co.uk, but that's based out of the UK, as the domain name suggests.

You can use screen recording software to record your anime. That's the only way you'll get anything from CR onto your own HDD/SSD... Just keep in mind that it's illegal.

May be illegal, depending on your local laws. I believe it would break the DMCAs anti-DRM-circumvention clause, making it illegal in the USA.

Not that there's any way you'd be caught, and it's not criminal, so it'd only matter if the rights-holder sued you. Which they wouldn't even if they found out, because they'd never get enough money from you to matter.

Of course, it's a stupid idea because you could just download it from torrents and not have to fuss about.
