I've always wondered why the Church has any say in the marriage issue at all (homosexual or heterosexual). Although, I'm an Athiest now I was raised Catholic and like a good little boy went to CCD Classes each week. The Priest always said some words to us that struck wrong with me and most of the other Priests said the same words repeatedly; "marriage is a contract before God". It took years for me to realize why it sounded wrong. The word CONTRACT is a legal one not a religious one and by definition they were telling us that since they were not a legal body they had no right to enforce it. Yet, the same religious bodies who instituted Witch Hunts, The Crusades and numerous other Holy Wars (we won't even go into coverups from Church-sanctioned crimes against humanity) in the name of whatever God or Gods they/we worship were trying to tell us what was right and wrong in the eyes of God.

The separation of Church and State was a belief promised by our forefathers but let's face facts, it doesn't exist in most cases in the World we live in. Most Politicians kiss up to whichever group will earn thier partty the most votes the next time running it's why the whole issue of Gay Marriage is even an issue. i often hear such moronic comments as "gay people are unnatural", "gay people can't really love each other", "gay people add nothing to society", "gay people are sinners" and those comments usually come from twice/thrice divorced people whose kids hate them with a passion who claim to be highly religious while breaking multiple commandments and going to Church every Sunday to "dryclean" thier sins through a 5 minute confession. Sorry for the run on sentence but it seemed necessary not to break it up.

For the record, I'm straight but one of my oldest, closest friends is gay. For years he put up with my ranting about my ex-gfs and me with his about his ex-bfs. He cared about every one of his exs just as much as I cared about mine. He's living with and planning on marrying a man he truly loves. There's nothing unnatural about that.

because the whole idea of marriage was a religious thing to being with. it dates all the way back to the start of Judaism thousands of years ago

That's absolute bullcrap. Marriage is practiced nearly everywhere and in nearly every culture; even cultures that didn't know about Judaism--for example, Native Americans prior to European settlers--practiced marriage. The fact that the "traditional marriage" is regarded as monogamous probably has everything to do with Ancient Roman Law and little to do with a few scant New Testament verses that possibly codify monogamy.

And history aside, we aren't living in Ancient Isreal. Marriage has become a secular institution, and while many people practice it as a religious ordeal, religion is not necessary for a citizen to become married.

gay people are kinda annoying, overly opinionated and useless. why would they want to legalize something that's only purpose sets humanity back? lol

This "useless and annoying" gay man here employs five people, devoloped two new products that are companie's secrets so no jerk is able to copy them and is hiding his old, straight school friend and his children from his lunatic wife because, she got mad and violent again.

I speak three languages, did research for one year, got a diploma as a "master of science" and one price at grammar school. Had to save a rescue swimmer's life (was kinds embarassing for him, but all that remind was a shock that lasted for a few days) so his three daughters are able to grow up with a father.

Oh, and I love my pretty boy who is a lot more talented than me. I wish I could marry him, but unfortunally his parents are a bunch on religious lunatics who believe the holy spirit is shining out of their behinds. They would murder their own son becuase, he loves another man.

But since you are obviously an anime fan, I suggest you should watch "Love Stage". Its available here on CR. You might improve yourself.
