What Tattoo Would You Get?

Not a fan of tattoos. I'm fine with people who get them but, personally, fresh tattoos on young people tend to make me think a person lacks foresight and good judgment. A tattoo is like an accessory....that you can't ever remove unless you drop even more dough and want to go through a little pain. It's like putting on a hat or a watch or a ring that you can't ever remove. It's WORSE than a permanent ring or watch. Worn jewelry tends to gain a noble character with time, as your skin polishes it slowly and it becomes personalized, while tattoos just get uglier. I'd say give it some actual serious consideration before getting one.

Don't just get one because it's cool or it's an expression of your current self. You don't want to be trendy when it comes to tats. Your personality will change over time. I guarantee that you won't be the exact same person in 20 years as you were when you thought that tattoo was a good idea. Geez, you are THIRTEEN. I am unrecognizable from my thirteen-year-old self. Stuff I thought was the greatest back then is no longer what I like now. When I was thirteen, I didn't even know that I didn't know anything.

Visible tattoos will butcher your prospects for a decent job, since they make it difficult to appear professional. Not saying it's impossible but you'll surely realize that a badly planned tattoo costs much more than what you spent to get inked. If you must have one, get one that isn't readily visible when you're normally dressed.

Tribal designs and/or crosses? WTF, every frat bro and hammer bro guy has one.
Asian characters? Unless you're Asian yourself, that's tacky. It's like me getting 'WATER' tattooed on my forearm and going back to Taiwan.
Butterflies? Every other prostitute has one. Same goes for wings on the back. Many of my female friends who have made less than stellar life choices have wings. I've lost count of how many back massages I have given to people with tattooed wings.
Dirty pick up line? That is quite literally meaningless. There is a 120% chance you'll regret it before you even turn 18 if you somehow manage to get it now.
Good god, Spongebob hat? Please, don't.
2015 tattoo is the worst idea of them all. Unless this year holds a very specific and unforgettable positive place in your heart, this is the very definition of a bad, trendy tattoo. It's not even the end of February, for crying out loud, why the hell would you get a tattoo to remind you of a potentially boring or bad year that you wish you'd never had?

No offense, but those sound like awful ideas. You need to go through some sort of eye-opening, unforgettable life experience that you know will leave a deep impression on your heart before you think about seriously getting a tattoo. Get something meaningful and unique. None of the things I see there sound like something people would consider classy on the body of a 40 year old. Bad tats make people think you're a tool, and you'll more likely be approached by people who will treat you like one.

Anyway, enough of that. I don't mean to be offensive. If a tattoo holds some sort of significant meaning for you (once you've lived enough to realize what's significant and what is not), feel free to go for one that isn't emblazoned like a welt across your forehead. And don't get too many. It's just that it would really be tragic and awful if someone ended up with tattoos they hate. I swear upon my dead half-sister's grave that happens more far often than not. I swear upon it.

If I had to get a tattoo, it would likely be on my upper left arm, the same arm that I got an immunization shot on that left a ring-shaped scar on me when I left most of my family and came over from Taiwan. It would most likely be a quote: "The windows went dark first with rain, and then snow, and then the days, then the years ran together, and not one mattered more than another, and not one mattered."

OR

"Conjuring up the past is not remembering, it is replacing."

I already have an owl on my upper right arm, but I want more.. I just don't know exactly what yet. I'm thinking my next one will either be a geisha or a dragon of some sort. My coming trip to Japan is likely to give me some sort of further clarity and I'll likely at least start the real planning after I get back.

I wasn't sure about the whole "once you get one you want another" thing about tattoos before I got my first, but there's definitely some truth to that.

I am getting a quote from Walt Whitman tomorrow on my ribs. I'm kinda eager on how this is gonna go Because I am a slim, 104 lb asian girl

It's gonna hurt! lol, I've gotten mine on my arms, but my friends who got theirs done at the same time said the ribs was by far the most painful thing ever, good luck

I'd rather save the money than mark myself with something meaningless.

I already have a heart on my wrist, my next one will be a lyrics thats "Gorgeos Eyes Shine Suicide" to the left of my wasitline on my side.
After that Plan to have claws on the top of my hand with blood on them like "breaking through the skin" and a small black heart behind my left ear. Then I want to have a bigger one of my arm thats very anime related.I also want the tattoo Angel has from Buffy in the same position or a black Triaingle with A heart in middle from Crash Love with the lines "I remain in the dark growing wings in white going through it.
