I just finished this like 30 mins ago and I absolutely loved it. Definitely an instant favorite for me.

I just loved the progression of the characters, the laid back setting, and the heavy focus on romance. The friend group was just great and everyone was really open with each other. An absolutely great watch and probably one of the best romantic relationships I've seen in anime for some time.

Everything just felt so natural. The pacing was fluid and consistent, the characters felt real and genuine, and the relationships and interactions never felt forced or stupid. I loved the tone of the anime and just the overall package.

It saddens me that I don't hear this one get mentioned too often. This one definitely seems like a diamond in the rough in terms of romance series.

Anyways, what's some of your thoughts on it? And if you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. Anyone that likes romance shows will enjoy this one for sure. Here's a link to the show:

I'll show you some love Loomy as I do sometimes for your threads. I'll keep it short and sweet. I enjoyed Ano Natsu as well. Particularly, the romance. I actually thought it was really well done. That has a lot to do with the characters. They just felt real, you know? Like you believe that that's how they'd react in certain situations, etc. Enjoyed the OST also. Still love that OP/ED combo.

I watched this show off of a recommendation, and I instantly loved it. The relationship between Kaito and Ichika didn't feel forced and was absolutely adorable, the characters had real motivation and emotion that drew you in and made you care about everyone, and the overall atmosphere and theme of the anime makes me think of those summer days past.

It helps that I watched this at the beginning of summer like 2 years ago, and that summer brings back fond memories to me. Overall, I think AnoNatsu was a beautiful show and I'd recommend it to any fan of romance anime, or just anime in general.

Thank you Shawn! I appreciate the support!

And I'm glad to hear that you liked it. And I definitely know what you mean, it felt very real and natural. Also, I loved the OST and OP/ED as well, they were really awesome (ED was my fav).

Ya, it does bring me back some good summer memories too with all my old friends. It really captured the friend group well.

And ya, the show was very compelling and a lot to offer. It wasn't too lax and it wasn't too dramatic either, it had a nice equilibrium of the two imo.

The thing about this anime is that it's pretty good and I enjoyed watching it. But it's so similar to other series, most of which end up being one or two cour with no real ending. So ultimately it ends up being sort of forgettable. Especially if it isn't the first of its kind that you've watched.

If a second season ever gets greenlit I'll watch it. But for now I likely won't revisit it again, nor will I likely ever get around to checking out the OVA.

Besides some of the forced drama, the show was sweet imo with the relationships. I had no problem with the series at all as even the comedy on most parts balanced well with the show's tone.

OVA was slightly disappoint though but the series was fun. Also, Remon best girl.

Just in my humble opinion, I believe this anime excels in a lot of areas that other animes don't. Like the aftermath of the kiss? And actually getting to see the relationship progress as they're in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship and not just a kiss on the last episode, is something that's not common.

It really dived into the romantic relationship and I loved that because most series just throw that under the table just focus on the "Oh man! Is he gonna say he loves her? Is he!?" And then it's just fiddling around until the last episode or two, but this was not like that at all.

And the relationship itself was fleshed out well, I usually never see that. Maybe 1 out of 20 (or even more) romance animes I watch will do that.

That's a definite plus for me. The plot was simple and maybe familiar, but the execution was nicely done, and the characters and relationships made it all come together in a nice package.

I remember that show, it was pretty fun, Though I actually liked that one girl who only stuck around for 2 or so episodes - I think her name was Kaori - more than Ichika (or any of the other girls for that matter).
