I've been noticing alot of newer shows I've been watching on here have had the video streams darkened. Specifically over battle scenes, actions scenes or anything particularly including flashing or "strobe-like" light effects. These happens from anywhere from main battle scenes, maybe to a scene with lightning, even some of the intros or outtros that had some "flashy" moments. It's a minor quibble but kinda annoying watching a battle scene and having the animation suddenly turn darker. I didn't know if this was something you yourselves due to the raws you translate to prevent epilectic seizures in viewers. Or if it's a new practice in Japan with their video editing before distributing shows on tv. Again not a huge thing, but just kinda irks me some as in most cases it make the time of day look wrong with the timing of the battles, or distorts video quality with this "shading".

This is a common practice in anime that airs on TV to avoid seizures. It could be limited to specific channels and time slots but generally they are just avoiding the Porygon Incident which put a few hundred kids into seizures.

Alright thanks, just never heard really about them doing this now. Though ya that episode did come to mind when I thought about it. Just irked me cause in some series like Fate/Stay Night and Unlimited Fafnir it happens fairly regularly because of the heavy magic secnes involved in both shows, and a couple others.

Lmao never thought I would want to see Blu-rays for this kind of uncensored hahaha.
