I've been using the Xbox app for some time and only recently I've been running into a problem with video streaming. Randomly the video will skip ahead 5-10 seconds and I'll have to rewind, which is a problem in it self.

This should have been fixed months ago (and I haven't seen it reappear). If it's the same root cause as before, it's an encoding problem with the videos, and the only resolution is to report it using the /contact form, and one of the support representatives (usually bjaker would queue it up.

So does that mean it is based on a specific video/series? That seems kind of odd it only appears on Xbox. My PS4 and PC have been fine.

The apps use a different video file (one with hardcoded subs) than the PC/Flash player. I don't recall now if each app uses a different file, but I don't believe that's the case.

But it's essentially based on specific videos, and the behavior is repeatable. Rewind too far, and you should see the video skip again to the same spot.

Basically, it's been knackered for ages.

Something about app stream will repeatably glitch on the Xbox 360 app. A reencode will fix it but we've had no real notification on them being able to long-term fix it.

Luckily, i have multiple other TV-connected players that work a damned site better. But the lack any any hint of a permanent fix makes it seem that if you only have a 360 then you're out of luck and they aren't likely to fix it any time soon.
