Scientists propose a new model said to disprove the Big Bang Theory. It states that the universe was never created and has always "existed." The model also explains why dark energy and dark matter exists.

Discuss.

Lol... Ill stick with the big bang theory thank you very much.

Something can't exist without being created by some form of action.

Action = Big bang (rapid expansion of the universe)----> effect = the universe is created

Action = we dont know so we will say it always existed ----> effect = Dildo factories.

I'm sorry, but given the fact that nothing actually explains the universes creation with 100% certainty; Ill stick with the one that seems the most plausible.

The theory that the universe was always there is about as plausible as god (which isn't plausible at all)

I am also not a scientist, so what do i know? im just a big stoopid head.

han shot first.

and pluto is a planet.

Huh. That's interesting. Well, since I've never been one to particularly care about the universe's origins, I don't have any reason to reject or accept this theory. I'm chill with it, though. I'm leaving it to someone else to fight over it. I'm going to admit, though, that the concept of the universe not needing to have been created interests me more that the "big bang." It reminds me of something that I've either read or watched, but I can't place it.

the babushka lady is still alive, aliens exists, the illuminati is real, barack obama is the anti christ, and pluto is secretly a planet

I am happy we are naming our little planets.

I always thought something must've always existed in one form or another. I mean, what existed before the universe? A multiverse? What existed before the multiverse?

Really the secrets of the universe boggle my mind.

But again, I don't think you're an expert enough to judge.

The universe has a lot of energy in it right? Well in order to preserve the law of Conservation of Energy, all that energy must have come from somewhere in order to exist. Not necessarily, the universe's laws only hold true within the confines of the universe. You can't say the onset of all this energy out of nothing defies the laws of physics because those laws do not and cannot extend into where this so called "nothingness" exists. The only possibility is that "nothingness" never existed, but then again never is a concept of time and time only exists within the confines of the universe.

there are some that hypothesize a self contained geometry, the expansion of the universe and the formation of time being a consequence of that structure and how it destabilizes without external time.

there are plenty of contenders for how this universe came to be, some are even sane.
