I'm looking for some decent anime that have strong male leads. I've gotten really sick of all these anime where they are losers, or weak, or completely gutless around women.

I don't mind if it's harem or echhi, as long as the male lead isn't like in Highschool DxD, where all he does is fantasize about breasts, and then when he gets the chance at some, he turns into a huge pansy and runs away.

I've recently watched Trinity Seven, Blade Dance of the Elementers, and Hagure Yuusha no Estetica, so anything like those male characters that start out badass and end badass would be good.

Infinite Stratos / Total Eclipse / Absolute Duo(is a new anime only 6 episodes out so far)

all 3 series are not as pansy as Issei from Highschool DxD.
quite the amount of cool fights & storyline etc etc.

i think you will like it

I second Bakamonogatari and Fruit of Grisaia.

Others that have reasonably strong--or at least not wussy and afraid of women--male leads (along with genre):

Clannad (romantic comedy/drama)
Kanon (romantic comedy/drama)
Angel Beats (Action/drama)
The Devil is a Part Timer (romantic comedy)
Trigun (Sci-fi/Western Action)
Samurai Champloo (Samurai Action)
The Ambition of Oda Nobuna (Historical alt-reality/ ecchi harem)
Special A (Shoujo Romantic Comedy)
Maid Sama (Shoujo Romantic Comedy)
My Little Monster (Romantic Comedy)
Eden of the East (Action/Drama)
Chaika the Coffin Princess (Action/Romantic Comedy)
Log Horizon (Action/political drama)
Btooom (Action)
Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka (Romantic Comedy/Ecchi Harem)

Thanks. I'm going to start watching some of these. I started watching bakemonogatari and it's really interesting. I love the character Hitagi, she's so weird. I just got to the epsiode when he meets the lost little girl, from my previous knowledge of lore, I'm betting she's actually already dead.

I've watched Infinite Stratos, and I'm watching Absolute Duo as the episodes release, Absolute Duo is a decent show.
I tried watching Angel Beat before, but my god it's so depressing I just can't do it. I watched the first few episodes and felt like someone caved in my chest.

I've also watched The Devil is a Part Timer, which is a good show, I'm shipping Emi btw. Trigun is one of my all time favs. Samurai Champloo was awesome as well. Special A was pretty decent. Maid Sama, My Little Monster, and Say I Love You are easily my favorite romantic anime.

I've also seen Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka, and that anime pissed me off so bad. The whole plot was pointless by the end.

I recommend Irregular at magic high school and Arpeggio of blue steel, both have exceptionally strong male leads.

The Legend of Condor Hero(at the start, he gets picked/beatup on because no one will teach him martial arts, while everyone else around him know atleast some, but even then, let me say"he is no ones bitch", and he gets strong really fast/early on in the series.

Here's a overview/review I wrote for it: http://www.anime-forums.com/showthread.php/158393-The-Legend-of-Condor-Hero-review

Kingdom(Xin while not the brightest lightbulb, ok It's pretty much a burnt out lmao, but other then that, he's a very strong lead male character in every other way possible)

Here's a overview/review I wrote for this: http://www.anime-forums.com/showthread.php/157090-Kingdom-(complete-series)

You're in luck too, I rank both of these as being among the 5 greatest anime ever made, so they're topnotch anime in general.

Edit: To be clear, the anime listed below, are not part of my top 5, nor do they come close to such, I'm listing them just because they have strong lead male characters, and you'll probally like them.

Aside from those two high end greats, you can always watch Chrome Shelled Regios(such a shame this series was never complete), and Kaze no Stigms(if you haven't already lol, who hasn't, everyone has seen Kaze no stigma)

A better overall anime then Chrome Shelled Regios, and Kaze no Stigma combined, would be Tsubasa Chronicle. I would definitely rate the MC as a strong male character, especially with all that he has to go through, and even worse, is the Sacrifice he had to make early on to enable him self to journey, to save the woman he loves).

However he may not be "manly" enough for your liking lol(he looks exceeding sqawny too, but damn, boy can he kick ass, literally), one thing is for sure, he never complains about what he had to give up, and he's always pushing forward(nothing is gonna prevent him from saving the woman, who he so loves, life)

You could try Blast of Tempest. The two male leads are strong characters in different ways. One is the quiet strong type who is very loyal and fights for his beliefs. He's steadfast and not easily swayed. The other is very outspoken and determined. He follows logic and reason and will do whatever it takes for what he believes in.

All the previous ones mentioned are awesome suggestions (Cowboy Beepop my 1st choice, but can't imagine anyone not seeing that already)... should give you all the list you need. But what is two more (since I didn't see listed and often don't)

1) Speed Grapher
2) Solty Rei

Believe the reason these main mail character seem strong is because they are supposed to be more mature as they are portrayed as older men(Speed Grapher probably in his 30's and Solty Rei I would say 40's)

EDIT: Ehh, sorry, just noticed this thread is 4 month old. My bad.
