For me the lag happens on all the episodes I watch or load. I think its more a problem with the app/player... not the streaming itself, maybe.

The episodes themselves that a few extra seconds to load. Not a big deal, of course. My biggest problem is the seek function lagging. If you touch the seek bar it takes 6-10 full seconds for the video to reload. This used to be nearly instant. By itself this isn't a huge problem, but when I'm looking for a specific scene I'll use the seek buttons and each 15 second advance or rewind makes me wait that 6-10 seconds and it starts to get frustrating.

As for the sync problem, I don't think what I experienced is the same as what others are reporting. Again, non-episode specific... sometimes my player will bug out and the sync will go haywire. Its only happened three times and usually either I press play and the video freezes while sound continues, or I seek back 15 seconds and only the sound rewinds while the video continues forward. I cannot purposely recreate this, though its only happened when coming back to the app while it was open in the background. It can easily be fixed by backing out of the video and reloading it.

I have the very same problem too. Best WiFi connexion, all updates but if I want to read a video I need to stop it and reload it about 10 times. Basically when the quality starts to get bad, I quit the video and start it again. But this is really frustrating indeed... also sometimes the sound doesn't match the video at all.... I posted in the French forum too.... hopefully we can fix this bug....

Seek is lagging for me too. And now the video itself is starting to have problems with quality drops and freezes.

I don't blame you guys too much though, Android development is more complicated than it should be.

Also, is it just me or is the Android app sucking up more battery life now? I guess that's to be expected with HD being implemented, but I haven't even been watching in HD. >_>

Yes, thats the latest version I have so far. Thats weird. I encountered a similar issue on a much older device, but where the video played slowly (didn't stutter, just played at like 1/4 speed) and the audio played normally. I will have to look into the issue :/ Sorry

It may also be your internet connection. I'm going to quick make a different version that uses an lower quality stream that adapts to your internet speed. It may work better

Ok here's the link to the adaptive stream version: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22045540/BetterCrunchyroll-v0.0.0.0.3-adaptive.apk

It won't be in as nice of quality, but it'll hopefully fix the audio sync issues. Let me know if it does/doesn't.

How do you tell if it's HD or not ? Does you're tablet have an indicator showing HD ?

Non-HD versions of our streams, which may still be delivered to users with internet connections detected as insufficient or unstable, really stick out on Full-HD capable screens. It looks similar to watching a 360/480p file in full screen on a Full-HD computer monitor or TV.

I've been in touch with our developers since the latest version upgrade, forwarding all the bug reports filed on the forums during this test run of improved quality streams. You can rest assured that the will be looking into the reported issues shortly and will attempt to fix them. Until then we apologize to those who are experiencing errors.

needs the ability to select streaming quality
HD is draining too much bandwidth and battery. I have 6 GB of data and i've already blown through most of it with two weeks left in my plan

also would be nice if there's a way to set the amount it caches while streaming like only cache 1 min ahead so it doesn't waste so much bandwidth if you stop the video before finishing the show

I would like to 2nd this.

My mobile internet allowance is $60 for 10GB a month with $20 per GB excess usage for any data over my quota.
HD can cause so much pain if I am not paying attention to my data (the costs and not being able to do anything for the remainder of the month if I blow it early). The speeds I get are around 50-60Mbit/s, so it will load HD by default.
So yes a ability to manually change the quality is highly wanted by me. Other wise I pretty much have to use android flash still.
