Post Reply Do you ever feel like you were supposed to be the other gender?

I don't see people or things as different genders... Have no want to be female or male, straight or homo. I think cultural norms force people to be in this cage they can't see or get out of.

That's why I can treat people equally despite gender...

I also find it amusing everyone started out as a female... During embryo stage, until the testosterone kicks in.

No, not really. I just find it comedic myself.

Ah. Well, then that's probably either just plain curiosity on your part or you're transgender (but probably don't have gender dysphoria going on). Where are you within the transgender umbrella? Couldn't say at this point.

Well, i'm completely fine with being a male, and i always have been. And it's not like i would make any effort to change this, but if i had a choice from birth, i'd definetely choose the other gender. That's about it.

Those dreams are pretty erotic though, which is weird. I experience them from a girls perspective, and the ''feelings'' i get from them is very different from what i should or would normally feel as a male.

What I don't understand about the transgender thing is, what do they think it means to feel male or feel female? How exactly does one feel male or female? What one wears or how one acts has nothing to do with whether they are male or female.

No. I mean my life would literally be no different if my gender were switched so I don't really see the dilemma. I'd still have the same views, beliefs, and personality. My physical characteristics are kind of secondary to those. The people I've known also probably would not have treated me any different if I was a lady.

Supposed to be? No, I can't say that I've ever felt that. That said, I can't say that I haven't thought about it at times and if there was some sort of instant conversion magic I would probably think about it.

I identify as cis-male heterosexual but sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I were born a girl.
Side note: Gender in of itself is a fascinating concept because so many people identify as belonging to a gender, but we don't have a clear definition of what constitutes "feminine" or "masculine".

No. Sure, I've had erotic dreams as a male with male and female partners, but... I just feel like a female pervert who likes to RP. I'm happy with spending my waking life as a female.

My only issue with my gender is based on my own insecurities. I'm not hugely comfortable with my body and I often find myself not feeling "womanly" enough despite telling myself that not having big boobs doesn't make me any less of a woman. It's funny because I have wide hips and curves going on down there yet it only makes me feel big, like I take up too much space, like it's unattractive and not womanly, yet if I had huge boobs I imagine I'd feel more womanly.

A lot of girls have vanity unit in their room stocked up with makeup and hair styling products and tools. I have a shelf with 200+ games, manga, anime and MtG cards. I'm more of a 'closet nerd' though - so to speak - since only a few people in my life have ever known. People I meet online who know what I look like tend to think I look like the former, but I don't feel like it at all. Sometimes I wish I knew how to dress super cute and how to do more advanced makeup and curl my hair. I honestly feel plain bad about it sometimes because, somehow, it makes me feel inept at being feminine despite people thinking I look like the former kind of girl.

Hey I had weird question for you. If somebody made a machine or thru medical DNA modification. Would you switch gender if giving the chance ? I may do it to see how it feel and to cosplay female characters.

Only if I were hot as a girl. I mean, as hot as I am for a male.
You must be a girl inside if you think your male self is hot. Or you're gay for yourself lol.

Everyone may start out as female but the genetic marker for what sex they will become happens at the moment of conception. This can partly explain why transgender people exist; the genes say they will develop into one sex but some error in the development in the womb makes them into the other sex.

I don't think it's really explainable to those who don't experience it but if you can imagine that in order for there to be two sexes there must be two genders (how one perceives themselves from their own standpoint of what it means to be male or female). It just so happens that every once in a while a person is born where their sex doesn't correspond with their gender as defined above. Whether or not that phenomenon is a tangible, real occurrence is still up for debate, but if it is true then wouldn't you imagine it to be a very clear and overt thing to the subject of that phenomenon?
