I remember a case where it was used on a small person. What makes it okay for a person with dwarfism to undergo this procedure rather than a small person?

I've heard of people with dwarfism using this too. They used it to get taller and straighten their legs which had been bow shaped. Not everyone with dwarfism who have the option of this procedure choose this. Some are okay with their heights and size or don't want to go through a lot of pain plus disabling themselves for a period of time just to get taller. Also people who have one leg shorter than the other use this procedure on the shorter limb to make their limbs even making walking better without the need of specialist shoes.

Even though I'm discontent being exactly 5 feet, and I think my time for growing is up, I wouldn't go to such extreme measures, LAWDY.

Omg she's crazy. That is a really superficial reason to get surgery.

I think it's actually the least superficial reason. We waste quite a lot of our life on a career, so it's important to choose one we like.

Not sure why our models need to be six feet tall, though, but whatever. I'm guessing they know their business.

At 30, even if she can cure cancer, she won't ever become a model. I'm not sure why she's doing this based on what some stupid person told her when she was aged 17. "I had tried to get into modelling school when I was 17 but was told by the director that because I had stopped growing the only way I would ever be the right height was if I grew leg extensions."

Instead of working on getting "leg extensions", she should have worked hard towards her modelling career... example find work in other talent areas like actress or singing. Get famous and then even if you're short, fat and ugly, you can still model. That's how those types of industries work. Once you're famous for something, they'll swarm to you like flies to sh.t.

She seems like a naïve fool, who is single minded and only sees 1 solution instead of being able to come up with different solutions. And what makes her think that being tall will make those shallow people accept her as a model??

And she's planning to do this two more times... what kind of masochist is she? This procedure is extremely painful.

If you go here there are model 50 year old. http://www.modelsplus.com/lifestyle/women-over-50#1 Is not that she can't become a model but that depend of the talent agency. What type of clothes she looking to model and sometimes is about the body. Either she find agency who give her a chance or does what some people do. Become a independent model and hope somebody notice her. You know dress up on something and take photo of it and post it.

She wants to be a catwalk model, though. not a lingerie model or catalogue model... that's why she needed that "height".

and only people who are ultra famous, like Heidi Klum, can model after a certain age. A normal 30 years old would never be able to catwalk... :-/ talk about swimming upstream...

I cannot see that happening for her. I don't get why you need to be that stall for catwalk. Most of the girl doing that type of modeling look like bones to me.

In my non-humble opinion, clothes usually look good on tall, fit people.

If i'm allowed to be honest, I take inspirations from what tall people wear on the streets... not the short ones.

But still... you shouldn't have to go to the extremes to try to achieve something... It's almost like students who do prostitution to get through university... I mean... are there no other alternatives available... or something? You don't have to put yourself in those extreme situations.

Well I did't mean all stall models in general. I was refereeing to the catwalk models. Every time I look a them, they seen like they are about to die or something. I preferred smaller model over the stall models thou.

Probably right if she hasn't been modeling yet, but there are quite a few stunning models in their thirties. Er, last I checked, which was in my teens. What type of modeling were we discussing, again?

Anyway, I have to agree that it's naive. But not superficial.
