Seriously, just give the monogatari series a shot. If you don't like it, that's fine. I really think it's worth the time unless you have ADHD and its impossible to focus.

But you should actually have a semblance of a slightly acceptable reason to not like it. At least a better reason than "the name is too long" lol

That makes no sense. How can you talk about ADHD when the person has not even watched it once?

"The name is too long" is a good enough reason.

And you must be the offended Lorreen mention, you seem suspicious

Who's Lorreen? What are you talking about and how am I suspicious for suggesting an anime I like?

Anyway, I was just saying it isn't the type of anime you just stare at. Without paying attention to it, you won't find it interesting. Just potentially your loss for not watching something you might like, especially since you seem convinced that it is not worth watching because of the number of letters in its name.

Well, if that's a "good enough reason" for you, I can't force you to watch it. Just a suggestion, obviously. It strikes me as a bad reason, like getting upset and sending back your salad because you don't like that the croutons aren't perfect cubes. But what do I know. It's up to you.

Pretty much this, basically.

People either really love it or really hate it. I just happen to love it.

Ignored that guy. He a troll and try to provoke fights or add fuel to the fire. Personal opinion of my is that is God like good. It has like 6 seasons. If that is no good to you then I don't know what to say to you. Monogatari does so many things well is kind of hard to describe. They talk a lot and I mean a lot. Monogatari is the type of series you either love or hate depending of your personal views. If I remember correctly I believe the studio say they want to adapt every single light novel of the series.

So like.. what exactly is it? I've heard many different like.. generalizations about it, but it's like different every time?

People view the series very differently. Just check out 1 episode and you'll know if you like it.
Well, what is it? In my opinion, it's as close to art as you can get with animated characters on the screen interacting and going through a story.
It's more fascination than entertainment for me.

I can't say is one thing that would not do justice to the series. I will say this thou. The writer of the light novel has major balls of steel. The same goes for the studio who doing the adaptation. They make you dislike one character so much and then it turn out that character is no only a badass but a good human being. They talk a lot and I mean a lot. A first it all sound like bullshit but if you pay attention you would notice there a lot of meaning behind it. What the say in one episode could come back to have meaning a few episode later or even a season later. Is very psychological and philosophical. They bring a lot of myths and make full use of their lore and make it their own. Also be prepare to have your morals crush and quite possible develop new fetishists. This anime does't give one single fuck what anybody think of it.

I think the seasons vary slightly in style. Bakemonogatari (first season) had a LOT more abstract scenes, like the snapshop with food on it, diagrams, etc. than any other season. There's a great deal of monologue in all the series and the general style is the same.

I like the mind-bending revelations the anime sometimes forces into you. The one Tsukihi talks about when Koyomi is asking her for love advice was a great one. Kaiki is one of my favorites due to this reason. I don't think you can get a firm grasp of the anime just by watching one episode. Maybe watch three or so, and make sure you pay attention.

It helps to have some cultural background and awareness of the language. Those and the metahumor/wordplay are what got me sucked in.
