Um, this is probably not an app problem, but even though I was able to watch eps 3, 4, and 5 of Shokugeki without problems after today's update, when I tried to watch ep 6 a while ago, I experienced a huge drop in video quality that basically forced me to quit watching. I figure it's just because it's ep 6's premiere day and everyone is trying to access it at once. Thought I should mention it though.

So far the app works without a hitch.

I personally had a problem starting it up for the first time after the update, however I chose to ignore the error that came up asking me to restart or ignore 3 times. After that all problems were gone and I have playback via Wi-Fi now.

I wanna say the app has been using more battery power since yesterday's update, but I haven't offically measured. It's definitely not enough to complain about though.

That may well be the case if you are now receiving HD playback. HD video requires more processing power than SD video.

About that quality drop during Shokugeki ep 6 I mentioned earlier, turns out the problem was on my end. Happened with another series. I checked my modem/router this time though, and it was super hot. I had always left it in the position the cable guy installed it in, but it turns out after checking that it was lying on its airholes. I didn't even know it had airholes. >_<

It's amazing that I haven't had more connection problems the past few months. I hope my modem/router isn't damaged.

Hmm, experienced a huge quality drop during Danmachi ep 6 just now and my modem/router wasn't even warm. I'm going to continue checking things to make sure the problem isn't on my end though. I think my Nexus's performance might be affected by something.

Edit: Hmm, just experienced problems with another streaming app. It would suggest the problem is on my end, but I downloaded a speed test app and got 33 mbps, which is what I normally get. I'm back to thinking it's my tablet.

Which speedtest did you run?

You may want to try http://speedof.me/, for three reasons:

1. IPS's are a bit less likely to "game" it than the most popular one (speedtest.net).

2. It gives you a graph, so you can spot if your 33Mbps download is going at a relatively steady speed, or going even faster most of the time but occasionally dipping much lower or even stopping for a bit.

3. It is HTML5 based, so it will also work on more devices.

With Comcast, my connection works fine most of the time, but I know every once in a while (seemingly once per day if I'm on a lot), it will hit a period for up to a few minutes where it is so slow I can watch images load; forget about viewing video.

That speed test also gave me good results.

I did watch the rest of that Danmachi ep and an ep of Rinne without incident just now. Maybe my ISP has trouble during peak hours.
