Baka (as stereotypical as it is), i also find name honorifics very interesting, they are such a foreign concept and such a small difference in their language and mine (UK English) really shows the extent of cultural differences between the two regions.

Tetsu.

I bought two shinai (kendo sticks), had to name them.

Chose to name them after a girl that it didn't work out with, after separation but before we fully agreed that it wasn't working out. It is broken Japanese, I was just trying to pin down a vague feeling in words, French was my first outlet for this kind of thing.

The first was the Hachi Isamu, which is a Beehive of Good Feelings or a Crown of Encouragement.

The second was the Hikyu Tetsu, which blends the icon of a battle leopard with iron, beautiful, and lost.

Should it have been the Tetsu Hikyu? I'm painfully self-taught, I don't get the grammar yet.

Kokoro, I just like the way it's used, the feel of it and the overall meaning.

"Hontou". I fascinates me that "hontou" and "really" are both very versatile and multifaceted words in their colloquial use, yet they have basically all of their usages in common. I mean, that'd be normal for a noun, or another word representing a solid, viewable thing, but this is a pretty abstract, nebulous creature. It's cool.

I'm sure I'll find some more words eventually.

But the one that fascinates me the most right now is.

"Naruhodo".

Ahhh, I love it.

The first word that comes to mind is "onegai".

There's something about it that just...makes me feel happy (in situations like asking for seconds, asking a favour from a classmate etc.) I don't know if that's just me.

The exchange of "hontou ni?!" and "hontou!" is great, although I tend to prefer it between females. On the other hand, I enjoy when males say "maji de?!"
