right now the cost is too high to make a full length anime series with the need quality . the reason why
Pixar can produce such works is they are backed by Disney, who is the worlds largest animation company .

there have bee a few 3-D anime works but for the most part they have been sub par or short OVA's, ONA's or movies. cutting the cost

though 3d is good, i dont think it is applicable for anime', because most of d anime or all of the anime r in 2d!!

imo, they should make animes that really are 3D, as in with the goggles and stuff
