The films are amazing and I feel like there's honestly no need for such things, leave it as it is, in all it's glory. THIS is why I have never really cared much for Studio Ghibli. I want to see more. NOT of what they have already done, I want the studio to challenge itself and make a successful original series. |

No, I really like how each one is its individual world. They let the viewer imagine what goes on after, lets that world become someone else's. I think it's actually really great that they do that; it allows us to be more creative and imaginative. The movies are aimed for children, but really, it appeals to all of us in the way that they're each their own universe. That's probably why I love Ghibli so much...

Sequels are what fans want, it's a great idea to see the worlds in Ghibli films expand. I'd love to see another film with the baron & have a scene node to Haru from the Cat Returns. That way it is a standalone film while still being part of a bigger universe.
I can't see Ghibli doing sequels too much, they're similar to pixar, better to have original ideas than dry out a story. Though pixar have done sequels lately and most live up to the originals. I think Ghibli though would probably be better off doing new films and original stories. |
