I want more protagonists who are aged 26-59. I still like anime about high schoolers, but you can only watch so many of them before you start to feel a little tired of them. With shows about adults (dealing with the responsibilities of adulthood!), there are just so many possibilities with where the story and characterization can go.

I can understand why anime has so many shows about teenagers though. If you think about it, the one thing that most of us (and most anime watchers in Japan) have in common is that almost all of them have been to high school. It's a very universally relatable story. Anything beyond high school, people's lives start veering in different directions. Some people may not go to college. Some may go to a trade school. And after that, the possibilities are endless. High school is a good time to set a story, because it's when the characters are maturing, growing up, and experiencing a lot of change in their lives. Conflict and tumultuous times make a good story!

16-20 for me somewhere in there. I enjoyed being that age range overall the most in my life so far. Make me nostalgic and keeps me feeling young....or really old lol

26-59 covers a lot of territory. As I get older, I would like to see more protagonists who are not minors, but I don't expect that to change for most new anime series. Probably the best of both worlds would be to use time skips like they do for Naruto to Shippuden, Attack on Titan, and FMA: Brotherhood, though I would like to see it be a jump from a teenager to a twenty- or thirty-something.

I like when they are about the same age as myself, which is one of the reasons for why I enjoyed White album as much as I did

Late teens, young adults. Basically mature without being physically old. Unless it's Kiritsugu.

Or, ancient beings, thousands of years old like Vash, etc.

18-25. It really depends on the type of show, and if a guy is the protagonist I prefer that age group. If it is a girl, then 13-17. Pretty much, I would like it if the MC is more mature than the rest of the cast that needs help, support, or what not.
