Post Reply What's the most bizarre thing your pet has done?

My 20+ pound cat (the largest breed in the world) once brought my mother a decapitated chicken head from the neighbor's backyard at my grandma's house. She also got her head stuck in a bag and crashed into the glass sliding door (my sister's cat did something similar). My little chihuahua has also done a backflip off of my aunt's lap landing badly on the floor in a godawful attempt at jumping.

These are probably very tame and maybe normal in comparison to a lot of people, but for me as a little girl at the time they were absolutely shocking. That's why I'm curious about anyone else's pets. Have they done anything weird/crazy?

Not my dog but my mom and dad had a dog (rest his soul he died due to liver disease ) that acted like a cat, it would jump on the back of the head rest on the lazy boy and just lay their wagging its tail.

My previous dog who now resides in the heavens used to run at full speed into the sliding door to let us know he wants to come back inside lol. Such a gentle companion.

Our family had a black Labrador who would gather up all the shoes and slippers in the house when no one was home, then curl up and sleep next to the pile he made!

My 20 pound cat (not a big breed, just a big cat) is declawed. My mom and I were watering plants on the porch, and we saw an orange flash shoot by, then saw my cat running away. My cat had jumped off the trunk of my car, caught and body slammed a bird to the ground, ending it instantly.
My koi (13 inches) attempted to eat a smaller goldfish (4 inches), but was stopped when I walked into the room to see him with the carcass sticking out of his mouth upside down and backwards like a cigar.

I had an aquarium that started with 5 guppies (it was 10, but for a night they were in the aquarium with the koi, and that didn't work well), grew close to 500, before a dominant gene that negatively affected immunity was bred into the population, and the population went from 500 to 2. Those two eventually died, but not from the disease that had zapped most of their relatives.

Had to put an oscar in with my koi (he was being bullied by his aquarium mate), the oscar made the brilliant move to attack the koi the first night he was in the tank, the koi retorted by ripping half of the oscar's gill off and leaving it at the bottom of the tank, thoroughly defeated.

When I was in my old house, I had a 29 gallon aquarium and a 10 gallon aquarium lined up across from each other, 12 feet apart. The larger aquarium was filled with rather large goldfish and was positioned at the head of my bed. My cat (different cat) liked laying on top of the tank, and one night he dipped his tail inside. The best I can surmise, one of the goldfish bit it, scared the cat, making the cat leap across the room, where he landed on the hood of the other tank, and nearly knocked it over (did empty a gallon of water from it).

My dog would climb a fence, literally, climb a fence (not overly tall ones) like how a normal person would, just to get over to the other side of it. Mostly because we keep it barricaded so it doesn't run all over the place and bite others.

My cat at my mom's house, Gena (when I was still living with my mom) sauntered into the bathroom when I was about to take a bath. At the last minute, I decided I needed something else from the kitchen and trapsied downstairs, leaving the food I'd already brought up there, cheese and turkey crackers, on top of the toilet seat (since the bath is right next to the toilet). Around five to ten minutes later I come back up, only to find that all the turkey and the majority of the cheese have disappeared from the top of the cracker.

That stinker.

On the other side of the coin, my dog, Baby, is incredibly unnerved by ceiling glares from reflective surfaces. She yips at them if she sees them, and her eyes dart around to follow their movements. I have never before seen a dog fascinated so much by glares on the ceiling.

I have a cat that is almost 20 lbs (he's just a BIG cat), he's bigger than my papillon. they play tag and nag each other all day long. my parents say that they're more like toddler boys than pets.

my cat also has the knack for opening up anything that can open, EVEN AT 3 AM!!! the only cabinet doors he cant open are the ones that are locked or baby-proofed locked anything that is red is his. if it's a red blanket or pillow, he'll drag it to his spot on the couch and sleep on it threatening to bite anyone who tries to take it. he understands human speech, can read time (he gets mad when I come home later than the time I told him i'll be home at lol) he also drinks out of a red solo cup my mom left in my bathroom. he prefers to drink water from cups instead of his water fountain. so EVERY BLASTED MORNING we fight over who uses the sink, and I usually end up covered in cat hair because he walks under me while I'm rinsing my face >.<

if I could I would keep going on about the crazy antics of my cat....he's really similar to Simon's Cat

well I don't know if is a bizarre or just a cat thing but when I'm sleeping, she will headbutt and purr me until I wake up to pet her <_<. she also likes to sit on my dresser and jump across to my bed, my dresser is across from my bed and it's about a 4 foot gap. she will meow as she's jumping to then start to headbutt me.
