Well this was better. Less confused, more focused. We got some more details on people and things. 1 soul pr kill it seems. How it is aqquired can seem to vary as long as his actions somehow lead to the death of a person he cared for. Hardly a good rate to be honest. I wonder if other dragons would offer something more for the same. Anyways...

But yeah as i suspected. mashiro knew what was coming all along. Certainly makes it a bit darker. We also got a bit of info on the bounded ones.

Was some politicking as apparently 3 sides want that dragon, ibuki seems to be a pawn, even for the revolutionary army, the name itself rather giving me the impression it's going to get rid of Ibuki at first convenience. But he joins up wanting it all to be over.

though what they want with the Red dragon..

The knight guy has some sort of curse. Neat i suppose.

Looks like the 5th fellow will be joining in next episode.

So a bit happening. Better than last episode, but not particularly riveting either.

I'm starting to understand the ending part, it slowly kills off the players piece by piece like a chess board.

I hope this doesn't end up like Akame Ga Kill!

So this is a story about a little boy who is on the losing side of a war and the only way he can fight is by using a cursed power that requires him to kill a friend every time? Only Urobutcher...

I guess they had to do something to nerf that power. Ibuki being able to one-hit-kill every enemy would've been too OP. The red dragon is a dick. "Congratulations. You now have infinite power! I just need you to slaughter everyone you care about and be traumatized for the rest of your life. Good deal, huh?"

Episode 2

Ya, I don't really know about this show.

The way this series was created is so strange. So Nasu, Urobuchi, Narita, and Kougyoku (I've literally never heard of Kougyoku before), all got together for some drinks and threw out random ideas for a RPG game, and then Makoto Sanda (the LN author) took their random ass ideas and made a LN out of it.

I mean it shows, there's so many random themes and directions pulling this anime all across the board. Even the title of episode one, "Kill One to Save Many!" I was like, "I see you Nasu! I fucking see you!" Seriously, you got Nasu's (or in this case, Kiritsugu's) ideals running all around the sacrifice power up, then you got Urobuchi's brutality with all the deaths, maybe some of Narita's clever dialog, and then I'm not sure what Kougyoku brought to the table, but reading the summaries of some of his novels, they seem pretty damn dark.

Basically, it's just a huge mess Though, I am entertained, but it's such a big mess. I think Sanda tried to make a story of a rough draft of a rough draft which had four different authorial perspectives and it just didn't turn out that great haha.

The soundtrack and animation is damn solid, but some of the scenes, particularly the fighting ones, seem so awkward.

It was ok I guess. I don't drop a series no matter how bad it is, but it hasn't really drawn me in yet. I suppose there isn't any guarantee everyone on the ending screen will die, but they seem to be heading in that direction.

At least Ibuki sees the power for what it is - a curse. Again I am reminded of Valkyrie Profile on DS. Only the main character you play is using the power and lives of his friends and allies for straight up revenge.

It's like there's a really cool story here somewhere, but they just fail at telling it.

Got to see Episode 1 on Hulu, and I am agreeing with what several of you have posted. The animation is poor (all that low-grade CG), the character design is strange (pentagonal eyes, bizarre big hats, Yin-Yang butt plates, etc.), and the story is melodramatic from the start, but ... I will give it a chance and keep going. I have faith in the creative staff.

Episode 3

Hmm....

My favorite part would be Chenfa though and the badass qualities she displayed in the episode. Not sure how I felt about Kagraba. It seems to be a mechanical character with a strange sense of knowledge. Mixed thoughts on this episode again, feels like they are using a lot of the same ideas over and over.

Lou Chenfa is definitely suspicious imo this episode based on a conversation she had when alone. Anyways, her weapon also seems to have mysterious powers based on what's shown so far.

Well. Not really a lot as such happened. We got introduced to this assasin character who seems to be planning to kill everybody at the end. her sword has the ability to get people to kill each other.

And the 5th guy is a really rich undead merchant.

And apparently mister black dragon knight is terrible with money, bankrupt even, likes to run after women leaving his attendant to deal with the fiscal parts and be all serious.. So Greece and Germany. Except here Germany is tsundere for Greece i guess.. or something. And considering the show i can already imagine her getting skewered.

our princeling is trying to keep everybody at bay so they don't end up being sacrificed for him. We also learn bound ones are not treated well and so on. Hardly anything original there.

Still not really hooked on this show. I'll keep watching it for now. But it feels schizophrenic. Constantly jumping from character to character. I mean the closest i've come to giving a damn or even having a chance is basically that moment between Mister Black Knight and his attendant that rather spoke something about them. So i dunno. I think it is biting off more than it can chew with the way it's handling the characters..
