OP, this 'Phenomenalism' you present, sounds a lot like the philosophy found within Zen Buddhism. It is even found in the most famous Zen Buddhism koan; "If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

Actually, what further gives this view of reality weight is that we find it in the world of science. The whole schrodinger's cat thing. Scientists have found that reality basically reacts to our conscious thoughts and perceptions, something like that. I even heard on a TV program discussing schrodinger's cat that (something along these lines) "this matter (schrodinger's cat) is troublesome to many scientists because it then starts to open up the possibility of metaphysics".

I think our "experience" of the world is simply the world being filtered through our senses. We can't truly perceive the "real" world. We can't perceive things that our senses cannot, but this does not necessarily mean there is nothing beyond our senses. In fact, there ARE things beyond our senses. We already know there are colors we can't see, phenomena we can't measure or feel, etc.

Human interactions and experience of the world is akin to that of a person groping and feeling a veiled statue in the dark. You only know what it feels like and what the general shape is, but you can never lift the veil and turn on the lights to perceive how, exactly, it really is. You can make deductions based on what you CAN sense, like deductions about the size of the statue and the temperature of the material.

Interesting.

I see a mess of disconnection, consumerism, indoctrination, corruption as corporations claim our individuality, feeding us crumb by crumb as we pursure the floating carrot.

Just because you can't sense something doesn't mean it's not there.

But it is a trip to think about

It's like a "what if" scenario, very The Matrix like.

So... my answer is...

Escapism

Where Cute is the ultimate truth.

Don't forget the tv remote. But I think that's more of black magic.

But also think about the way humans live right now. Seriously, we are all pretty much slaves to the system. Especially in America, were those who have money are king, and kings can do whatever they want. Money is a falsehood created by humans, for what reason. Does the average person know how the thought even came into existence? If they do, do they even think about it? Society is a construct of shared human thought and understanding. You were born AND told this is the way it was, this is the way it is, and this is how it will be. WE can change that. Someone once wrote something very important and it started with, “We the people.” An outcry rejecting what they had been told what was. We the people do not want war. We the people do not want sadness. We the people do not want stress. We the people want money. That is what we have been told. We want money. Money money money. I hate money. But society's rules wont even let me have a home without it. I can’t be educated without it. I can’t eat without it. Society says that we are NOTHING without it. Why? Is this what we want. We are the pinnacle of evolution on this planet, capable of so much but is our love for money that pushed us to where we are today. Yes. Because everything is done for money. Science. It doesn't exist without money. Entertainment. Makes as much money as science. Can a revolution happen. No. We would lose our jobs. And then were would the money come from. Nowhere. How would we eat? Where would we be housed? The Internet, my shows, how will I charge my phone? We are trapped. Living as slaves to something created by our own hands.

I typed this up just letting my feelings flow into they keyboard the other day. Felt this was an appropriate place for it.
