I'm liking what I'm seeing... not so much what I'm hearing. Shirayuki's voice just has too many past characters in it and just seems wrong.

Since Funimation has the license, it won't be available in CR in the US.

Episode 1

Jeez, it's a new take on the Snow White Disney story, so many damn references this episode to the original movie, it was fantastic. Seriously, they brought a Disney vibe to this, but gave it a nice anime spin on it. Well done!

I loved this episode, I was just in awe from it. The animation (based Bones), the music, the characters, wow! What a great first episode.

I need a good solid romance fix this season. I really do. I think this anime will make that happen for me. Also, it's already confirmed for a season 2 so luckily the ride won't end when it's over!!

Episode 2

Shirayuki is starting her life in the neighboring kingdom where becoming an herbalist is a whole lot tougher than in her hometown. So on a trip to gather herbs, Shirayuki gets kidnapped by Mihaya, who has the place all locked up. But Shirayuki holds her own and it turns out that Mihaya used to have it all, but it all went up in smoke, so he's doing dirty work to make money. That's another nice episode there going to show just how tough Shirayuki is despite being someone who is more fit to be a princess. She sure draws a lot of attention, but she always finds a way to pull through.

Episode 2

I think show continuously establishes the fact that Shirayuki is a strong, compassionate, helpful, and independent woman. This episode goes to show that she was able to escape from Mihaya with her own skills.

Thank goodness that Zen came just in time. I find some of his reactions to be amusing to watch this episode though lol

Has anyone read the Manga? I felt like they added and expanded on some things, which is nice, but I felt like they left out some things such as monologues. Still, I shouldn't complain because it is following the story correctly; can't get caught up with the nitty-gritty details, right? Anyway, I am enjoying the Anime so far!

Another good episode - definitely looking forward to Mondays now

Red hair attracts attention, and danger. On the flip side, I find the appeal contrasts with that in the UK at least, colloquially referred to as gingers, and typically used as a derogatory term. They didn't have an easy time growing up that's for sure!
Of course, we asians see it in a different light, given that our hair is guaranteed to be dark.

Right, enough of the digression, it was good to see Shirayuki holding things out on her own - using her intellect, and specialist knowledge to stall the kidnapper. She isn't some helpless damsel , but there's a point where she can't proceed any further, and that's where our white knight makes his timely entrance.

Zen can be passionate when he wants to, but work will always be second place to something else

Just waiting for them to not only discover more about Clarines' charms, but personally of each other too *chants romance romance*.

One of the major themes of this story that attracted me to it was what we have seen so far in episodes 1-2. Shirayuki isn't dependent on Zen as seen by her having her own herbs shop in the first town we meet her in and when she moved to Zen's area she's living on her own, cooking for herself, and deciding on her own what path she will take as an herbalist. Zen as we see in this episode shows (when he tells mihaya that Shirayuki is no tool) that he doesn't see her as an object or a thing to show off, but as a person like the wine seller on the dock. And after Shirayuki admits to Zen she needs to be more careful of her surroundings he doesn't tell her that he will be by her side from now on 24/7 everywhere she goes. He simply tells her incidents like what just happened make him wonder what he could do about it. I would be curious to see if at any point will Zen offer to teach her (or will Shirayuki be the one to approach Zen and ask him to teach her a few things) how to defend herself with a sword. Seeing how Shirayuki's personality is I think she would be receptive to being even more able to defend herself than how she almost got out of the situation w/o Zen's help in this episode. I'm curious to see how these two mature and grow as the episodes get further into the story.

Eh, didn't like this episode quite as much as the first. Didn't really have that Princess Bride feeling to it the first ep had. Plus it got a bit sappy towards the end there. Hopefully we get more focus on Shirayuki's quest to become a court herbalist and less on sappy romance stuff.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be in the top 5 for me this season. The characters and the setting really sell it for me. It has the right amount of sweet, not too much but just enough to keep me hooked.

Poor Shirayuki. First episode she's being chased to be a sex toy for an idiot prince, and now she gets kidnapped half way through the second episode. At least Zen is there to save her, but have to give her credit for not giving up and thinking quickly on the go.

Maybe it's because this show is different from everything else I'm watching this season, but I'm glad to see it still has that fairytale charm about it. It's done a good job at balancing the emotions of the characters and the story so far.

Seriously though.... Zen and Shirayuki.....

Hey, I've watched/read shoujo with limited sappy romance in it. A shoujo doesn't have to give you emotional diabetes.
