Try Elfen lied or H20 footprints in the sand.

I feel like Elfen lied is more of personality disorder than rage problems or bipolar.

Obligatory School Days.

I don't think anyone had anger issues until the end, and even so it could be justifiable. I mean, if someone killed your lover, you'd be pissed off too. Mentally unstable? Yes. Rage issues? Not so much.

I was just saying it because for every topic that has someone mention an anime, School Days always makes it on there whether or not it fits the bill, hence "obligatory".

As for a actual recommendation? I Haven't really scene a show with a MC that fits such a descriptive build. Yuno from Future Diary, maybe?

I want a serious anime about a girl who's bipolar and actually struggles with it. A girl who's a rageholic and gets mad and screams a lot, but where it's not some typical tsundere crap. I want one where a girl is stuggling with severe rage problems and it's not meant as a joke or funny, but where's it's actually sad, and we see her life suffer because of it.

I don't know if Kuroki Tomoko could be considered a bipolar girl but YOU WILL CRINGE FOR HER LIKE YOU NEVER HAVE DONE BEFORE. http://www.crunchyroll.com/watamote-no-matter-how-i-look-at-it-its-you-guys-fault-im-not-popular

Watch Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. There is a lot of messed up girls in that, although it's not really their fault.

It is not usually the sufferer's fault for being messed up lulz.

Well actually in Higurashi's case it was some airborne drug that was making them all hallucinate and be paranoid.

I was also going to suggest this, but then I saw the word " Serious " in the OP.

Neither of them are perfect fits with what you want, but the best two that I can think of are:

Hitagi from the Monogatari series: There are clearly some deep psychological scars causing her to act like she does, and as the series goes on she makes a fairly realistic shift in her behavior.

Taiga from Toradora: While it is a rom-com, and it's easy to dismiss Taiga as a typical tsundere at the beginning; but there are real reasons she acts like she does--reasons that the show addresses head on in fairly serious fashion--and as a result of that her behavior does show marked improvement over the course of the series.

Yea, and it's amazing. I love the development between rika and satoka. I like how the alien thing isn't explored much and it focuses on the virus aspect more

Bipolar people are not 'rageaholics.' They have triggers, outbursts, and mood swings like normal people, but to the extreme and also often with hallucinations and suicidal tendencies, as well as homicidal ones. Well it's not an anime, but since I am bipolar and have first hand experience the best portrayal I have ever seen is Black Swan with Natale Portman.
