I enjoy writing fanfiction but it seems like for the past couple years I've had more and more difficulty sitting down and writing. Not sure if its a change of location or atmosphere or loss of inspiration but I am curious what other writers do to overcome this kind of slump? I want to continue and finish a number of stories, but personal and fanfiction wise.

I get writers block sometimes but the cure really depends on why we have it... Are you physically or emotionally drained? Are you feeling short on creativity? Is the topic boring you? Is your life too hectic or disorderly?
There are many reasons to get blocked.. my last time was an AoT fanfic.. I couldn't move past the death of certain people in it.. I took almost for months to recover. Even then I don't think I would have without knowing why it was such an issue in the first place.

just tell yourself to keep writing, no matter how nonsensical it is. let the words flow freely.

remind yourself what you are writing for...

I try to write something completely different and nonsensical. Or i continue to write the same story but I start from a different scene, one that I know I will enjoy writing.

Not sure if this will help you, but I usually just stop worrying about the project at hand entirely and instead spend some time reading a new, different manga/LN. Then, I add myself into the plot of whatever I just read as a new character, in my head. For the next few days, I'll try to casually re-write the story and dialogue around myself, the character, in my head, just for fun.

When it gets to the point where I finally get the urge to write about it, I'll find that no matter how hard I try to sit down and focus, I still can't write. If I give up and go back to the original project I was working afterwards, for some reason, I actually end up inspired to pick it back up and end the writer's block for a bit.

I've been thinking of changing my environment up a bit. I don't seem to write as well at home and in the past I wrote better when I was at a cafe or book shop. I really like the idea of changing things and reading a new manga, I tend to put myself into the story as an additional character as well, it helps get the creative juices going. Do you guys think a change of environment might help as well? I don't like leaving my stories and books incomplete and want to finish them.
