Most? Idk about that. Alot of atheist, budhists, and non demominational people in the world. Though as humans, we like to think we are special and won't end up as fertilizer when we die like every other living thing on earth.

This is semantics, however remember some basic probability and multiverse type physics theories. If it can happen it has and will happen. We are merely a fragment of an n-dimesional "Ultrabeing" that spreads though multiple universes and timelines. So in a way when you die, it's like several sections of this "ultrabeing" of you dying in this local space time and perhaps several adjacent frames. In other frames you live on and may even be immortal in some. Therefore the "ultrabeing" of you is always alive somewhere in n-dimensional space. The individual cell (in this local space time frame) has expired, but the "ultrabeing" lives on as aware of the local death as a human is aware of the death of a single skin cell in it's body. Fear not, you exist now, have existed in the past and will exist in the future and other multiverses. There are an infinite number of you.

You just described the idea behind Steins;Gate.

Just basic cosmology. You should read some of Keith Laumers books from the 1960's, if you like this kind of stuff. They make SG look like a primary for kindergarteners. Some of them are crazy funny also.

Try the Time Bender series
and the Worlds of the Imperium series

Oh, I didn't know there was a field of study for these theories. I might check those books out. Thanks :)

I think of something along the lines of pseudo-reincarnation explainable by science. I guess more specifically, I think that the information that makes up who we are simply does not vanish, but continues along, something like:

Dies --> rots---> soil----> plant----> Animal--->Human/Animal/Soil.

So, our "code", or how I imagine like our 0101s, follows along this path, getting mixed in with the "code" of other living beings. So, we may live as another existence, and our conscience simply transferred, or at least the "piece of code" that determines our thinking mind.

I am never good at putting my thoughts into words, I'm sure this just seems like mindless dribble.

Two things. Believers might say its liberating for some with questionable morals to not have to fear going to hell. On the other hand, non-believers might say oblivion is a hard pill to swallow, and the idea of looking forward to an eternal reward is childish.

No one lives forever in this world anyway and people are going to believe what they want to believe.

I dunno know; we really can't scientifically confirm or deny the existence of one.

It's not like someone has died and then come back to tell the tale (in this case we have to define what is 'death' first)

Nothing. I think that we're just dead and that's the end. You decompose and things will eat you, you will turn into slush in a nice wooden coffin. You will only have your skeleton, which also will eventually decompose until nothing is left of you and so much time has passed that not even memory can keep you alive. You're simply gone and forgotten. Isn't it kind of sad, that that's happened to billions, maybe trillions of people? And it will happen to me- and probably you to. I don't believe there is anything after this life.

But perhaps there are souls, and our souls reincarnate into other beings. Maybe. Just maybe.

Those are my two conflicting beliefs that I can't decide between.

Probably the most morbid thing I saw today... Anyways, I have a combination of believes 1.You would go to heaven or hell 2.You become a ghost/spirit 3.Rot and become forgotten 4. You die and comeback as a different person... Thats my believes

There really isn't anything that proves there is no afterlife or there is.

Right now it's just wishful thinking.

If you can't prove it then it might as well not exist and you should stop believing it because for all you know it was made up by one dude and then everyone agreed because they were all ignorant. There is nothing to prove that anything exists past death so there is absolutely no reasonable explanation as to why someone would think there is something.

I never said I believed in it.

A lot of things were made up by man. Like the big bang.

Fair enough. I made the assumption that you believe something you never said. My apologies.

It's all good. Though I do understand where you are coming from.
