OMG

I love throat singing! I really enjoy learning about the cultures and societies of central Asia. There's just something so otherworldly about throat singing but yet it sounds so human as well. Love the documentary Genghis Blues, of which you see a lot of Ondar in that movie as well, and also when it's also incorporated into Western music too; such as the Sarah Hopkins composition Past Life Melodies. You hear the hallmark overtone singing around the 5:30 mark.

Anyway, music is a huge part of my life and I enjoy many styles and genres because human creativity can be expressed in so many manners and ways. I always think it's good to cultivate and appreciate a wide range of influences and creators. Simply put, I mainly enjoy a lot of electronic, instrumental and ambient music. I most certainly seek out the more mellow and peaceful moments in the music I come across. I also have searched out different music from various cultures like Brazil, western Africa and as mentioned above central Asia and of course eastern Asia too. I will always share the music I love with anyone and do so often with close friends and the few groups I'm in. I'll start by just linking a few examples of types of music I really enjoy.

  • I've played the clarinet for many years and love when it shows up in pop, rock or electronic music. Floex - Mecholup

  • Baths has been of one my favorite artists over the past year or so. I'm immensely fond of the moody melodies and rhythmic pulse he input into every one of his songs. Baths - Lovely Bloodflow

  • I love the ethereal yet earthy quality of lots of acoustic music but this type is one of my favorites. Toumani Diabaté - Djourou Kara Nany

  • Love most all ambient solo pianists. Adrian Klumpes - Be Still

  • Though despite the various instrumental and ambient genres I primarily listen to, I grew up entrenched in the spirit of alternative and indie rock. I play guitar and will always value the craftsmanship of a good ol' rock band. Halou - Crumbs and Dust

I have a wide range but on my phone the last 6 artists i listened to was Chet faker, VAST, A Perfect Circle, Korn, Stabbing Westward and Radiohead.

I can get into blues, Metal, dubstep, and then a classical song one after the other. The older i get the more diverse it seems to make me.

My Favorite band is Tool. Favorite EDM is Zeds Dead. Favorite hip hop is maybe Outkast it's harder for me to label my fav hip hop artist or group because each bring a unique thing to my certain tastes, that i can't come to a decision to label such a thing. But to a Band and to EDM i can definitely pin point Tool and Zeds Dead.
