I don't watch sad anime's often because when I do I think about the show/characters etc for like a whole week and just feel bad and stuff :(

Right now I'm staying up and playing a game, thinking of the anime I watched, grinding my teeth and my minds just going 100 miles a minute. What can I do to relax my mind !

Personally, I have a few go-to guilty pleasures; not just anime, but also games, manga, books, etc. They tend to be short and upbeat things that make me smile. If I'm fixating on something particularly sad or upsetting, I'll watch, read, or play one of those as sort of a pallet cleanser.

For anime, for instance, one of my go-tos is Amagami SS; I'l watch one of the four episodes long arcs (6 if you include the continuation in SS Plus), as a feel-good pick-me-up to help me forget about whatever I'm fixating on, and then I can get on with my life. I've used SAO the same way--not watching the whole thing, usually just episodes 7-14 (the Liz episode through the end of the Aincrad arc).

Sad anime is best tempered with a hilarious comedy series. I recommend something along the lines of Mitsudomoe. http://www.crunchyroll.com/mitsudomoe

I will usually find a discussion thread about the ending and try to get a feel of how other felt about the show. This will normally calm me down or lead me to new similar shows (as there is almost always someone who draw references tot her shows) which can be used jump-start me into a new show. It should be noted that this method is more of an evil circle that an actual "solution"
