Its official, RWBY is never ever coming back. While Monty Oum's death saddened me, seeing RWBY not coming back doesn't. RWBY itself didn't do much of anything to warrant me being sad.

"official" how? there's nothing on RT's site, there's nothing on the RWBY facebook, nothing on Reddit, youtube... NOTHING.

If you're going to report something that's not even announced on Roosterteeth I'd suggest at least linking some sort of article from a valid source.

Wow. I have to say that came as a shock. From Haloid to Dead Fantasy in his early days to RvB and RWBY I have always been a huge fan. He was a cutting edge fight choreographer with some of the coolest scenes in memory. It is a sad day. RIP Monty Oum! /SALUTE

Well I for one hope they contuine his work. Although it is sad that he passed, his creation shouldn't be killed off just like that. I would like to think it will take a hiatus instead of just flat out killing it. RWBY will always be known has his creation and I would like to see it go on.

While I've been a big fan of RWBY I have to admit that it's unlikely Rooster Teeth will continue to make new episodes of RWBY w/o his creative vision at the helm. Unless there were episodes already in production or a complete story/episodes outline for a Volume 3, written by Monty , I doubt Rooster Teeth will continue the series w/o his touch, it won't really be RWBY.

Um, he was just the creator, it was Miles and the other guy who's name I forget who are the writers for RWBY.

I highly doubt they will cancel it. It's too popular.

Point taken, also I was just reading a interview posted by Threezero in conjunction w/ the upcoming release of their Ruby Rose figure from December (found it on Crunchyroll after a redirect from roosteteeth.com). The interviewer mentioned RWBY Volume 3 is in production so yes I agree that there will be a third season. However, the future beyond is still uncertain. Monty's involvement as creator includes the choreography of the fight scenes which are as pivotal to RWBY's popularity as are the snappy writing and awesome music by Jeff Williams. Can that creative synergy continue w/o Monty?

I have seen some very good obsessed fan written side stories... the odds are they still try to find someone to fill in whatever episodes are needed for the new season then go searching for the talent to come close to his style with the writing and choreography...
I have some very devastated friends right now but a testament to now switching producers, directors and writers can work: How many people since the sixties have been in charge of Doctor Who?... stay with a concept with a strong fan base and writers and directors will come
.

It's already been stated by the crew that there was enough material to last until season 6 by Monty. Either way its up in the air at this point whether or not they choose to continue it. Sad troll post is sad

If by "official" you mean random internet poster speculation, okay, I guess...

I don't see any actual official sources saying this yet though. RWBY may very well continue without the original creator at the helm.
