I'm pretty sure it was YuYu Hakasho that got me into anime as a kid & then Naruto was the show that got me back to watching anime again years later

Mine might seem a little odd, but it was actually Strawberry Panic. I have my story about right here if anyone wants to read it. http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-810449/the-anime-that-got-you-back-into-anime

Well at first Pokemon, but took a long break and was then introduced to Bleach by my best friend. That really got me back into it.

Robotech, first season. Don't know if there's much else to say, first thing I can remember falling in love with that was anime. There were others, I saw Totoro back when I didn't know what anime was and Sailor Moon in Swedish but... yeah, Robotech was the first. My first true love... I suppose what got me hooked hardcore was Akira, that movie pretty much elevated my opinion of anime tenfold at the time.

Weirdly enough watched it as a kid like ultimate muscle, pokemon, yu-gi-oh, digimon, dbz, gt(didn't know it was japanese and called anime at that time just thought of it was american cartoons).
Then around my mid teens I was bored during one summer,so I was surfing the internet and rewatched old episodes of those shows above ,didn't know it was anime till then and found other sites that helped me find lots more variety and genres in anime and thats how i got into anime and binge watched a bunch of anime during one summer. good times.

For me, it was the first time I watched Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z.. Watching it in the morning and after school in my elementary school, then I watched Vampire Hunter D and it all changed me.

When i was little i watched Sailor Moon all the time. I actually never knew it was anime. I thought it was a cartoon and i watched that when i was 6 or 7 maybe? Then in middle school my friend made me sit with her and watch Naruto, even though i protested, but i ended up loving it and i've been watching ever since. I did take a brief two year hiatus though.

I suppose pokemon on cartoon network was my first taste of anime although I never knew it was made by the Japanese until years later. The first show I watched knowing that it was anime was Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi (History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi) two months short of 2 years ago. I only watched a handful of shows in the year that followed but I dived into simulcasts late last spring after finishing most 2013 catalog titles.

Probably the Studio Ghibli movies I grew up with.

I very distinctly remember Totoro to be the first memory of any movie that I have. I was in preschool or a daycare in Taiwan and was about 3-4 years old. I also had a collection of Nausicaa books, with the giant roly-poly bugs and everything. Grandma also had a habit of dressing me in a red robe. And since I freaked out whenever I went to the barber, I'd sometimes have my hair so long people mistook me for a girl.

My grandma is also very Japanese she raised me. Needless to say, I was also raised on great Japanese food. I had lots of Japanese snacks and those hard candies that come in a colorful tin. Pocky, kanpan, Calpis, Japanese chewing gum, the variety packs of candy that come in tiny boxes, kintaro ame, konpeito, ramune, Milky chews, Morinaga milk caramel....oh, god, Morinaga caramel....And, apparently, my grandma fed me special high-calcium Japanese biscuits when I was teething. She claims that is why I have good, straight teeth.

Oh, we also lived in a Japanese style place in Tainan. Sliding screen doors and everything. Naturally, Japanese cartoons were in the cards for me. I was never really THAT into them, but they're quite fun to watch. Sort of like how Spongebob was fun to watch but you don't go around dressing up like Spongebob.

my very first animes were Cowboy Bebop, and Naruto. I just didnt know they were animes until i was like ten xD. How i figured out they were anime was i played this game online and my friend in the game told me about Black Butler and i watched it and I recognized the similar art to Naruto and Cowboy Bebop and she sad it was an anime and since then for 5 years now i've watched HUNDREDs of animes.
