I have no idea about computers, but would using a proxy browser or anonymous browser lift the region restrictions for you? Not sure if that's allowed or not by Crunchy.

I think crunchroll is worth is because its available on so many devices and i enjoy reading the anime related news everday. I'm also a fan of fan art friday. Also the site keeps track of what I've watched and how far into each episode iv watched so i could stop watching it in the middle of an episode and return to it later where i left off. I like alot of the shows on here and anything i cant find on here id watch some where else. but the other places i watch anime are a bit sketchy with random pop ups, noisy adds on the side, rude people in the chat on the side of the page, and i worry about getting a virus or something. or id watch on funimations site which has a much smaller catalog of anime when compared to crunchyroll and funimation does not keep track of what iv watched. Crunchyroll is my #1 site and i visit crunchyroll almost every day

I've been here since 2008 and I've only paid for a premium membership for one month.

Pros:
- selection
- simulcasts
- news
- forums
- social aspect

Cons:
- large amount of titles region-locked for Australian users
- "wait [this many days] to watch this episode, if you're a premium member you can watch it straight away though! it's available for free elsewhere, even at 720p, but you buy a membership here instead lel"
- no Australian apps apart from mobile apps
- "premium privileges" seem like they should be free member privileges in most cases
- miniscule manga and drama selection
- ^also restricted by membership

For Australian (and New Zealand) users only Madman has actually released a HD, 100% free, no "wait so and so time to view this episode as a free member bull" website for our poor asses since we rarely get anything on the streaming spectrum of things. The joy!

It's up to you if you think CR is worth it or not.

I will continue to support CR until this site literally offers nothing to watch. The monthly subscription to this site is cheaper than a six pack of beer. If you sub annually, it is even cheaper. Definitely worth the investment. Still, I can't disagree with that licensing restrictions statement. My most recent disappointment was the third season of Dog Days. Both seasons are available here on CR, but the third season is not. It is a shame, but I won't blame the CR staff. I want to think they tried and just couldn't make it happen. I wanted to enjoy it here on CR, but I guess I'll buy it instead. I've been looking for a reason to but that series anyway.

I think hes asking why are you buying the subscription version when you can just use the free version, also if crunchyroll is not working out then try VizAnime www.viz.com/anime/streaming, or FUNimation www.funimation.com/ both of which are free.

If he has problems with blocked shows, it's fairly safe to assume he doesn't reside in US. Thus both of your alternatives would be pretty moot...

@lilliputian_otaku Good to see yet another fellow Dog Days fan. I too have the previous seasons on BD, and the third already reserved.

This season has been rather dreadful as a whole but CR really got the short end of the stick. The only CR shows I actually care about watching (and not just to waste time) are carry overs from fall or, in Aldnoah's case, summer. Funimation got the only two really good winter shows with Assassination Classroom and Death Parade.

no, because it wouldn't even be worth watching, there will be lag due to the region difference and then the proxy will surely scramble it up worse if the isp doesn't already block the data stream to begin with or atleast that how it is when i visited another country. it might work on android or iphones though.

content wise i think its sufficient, but community wise, i will alway bicker about how awesome the community was back then before cr went legal, well its not that its not awesome now its just that its so limited now. people were working hard to create a fun environment such as groups. i sorta miss being spammed by dozens of groups.

I love crunchyroll and i respect it a lot, the forums are great and i try to use it as much as i can but i don't like the video player they have. It stops at random points in an episode and if i try to rewind the episode it freezes for a few seconds and skips ahead/behind where i wanted it to and sometimes it just plain freezes when i try to skip parts. It's a bother.

I have realised that there are many shows which i am unable to watch, ones like Magi, Blue exorsist and a lot more. And even a big one, One piece. Why? Because of "Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region" There are many sites out there with like every anime and some even full HD. We are paying for us, I would expect to get a lot more anime, which there are but around half or something i cant view... Its sad because i really like this site, But it just feels like paying for nothing now.

I see that you said that you can't access certain anime because of your region and that's the same with me. I live in New Zealand :/ and we don't get shit all in terms of anime licensing, and i mean i'm paying for anime and i don't even get to watch half the anime i wanna watch ;_; then i started using a Google Chrome addon called Hola Better Internet and with it you can change your region to somewhere like America which has licensing for Anime such as Blue exorcist and the original Naruto series.

I like CR cuz i feel like part of something. That may sound dumb but all you here are real people who all have opinions and probably watch some of the same shit as me, and i think thats awesome. Even though Im new to the forums I get a feeling that we're a community and by subscribing I help keep that community alive, you know?

Crunchyroll is what you make of it. If you want a better community, make it a better community by being a positive contributor, if you want it thrive as a business, support it with your patronage by coming to the site and reading manga and watching shows. Stop complaining about how bad it is and get out if you hate it so much, or work with it, have faith it can be better.Ugh , its tiring to hear these complaints.

For me, Premium wise, I don't think so.
