Some sites find ways to completely block your access if you have ad blocker enabled. I'd imagine with Google's backing YouTube would have this type of functionality and if you want to watch any video you would have to disable ad blocker. Then with that functionality set up they could have levels of membership such as guest, basic user, and premium user. YouTube usually goes ahead without caring what the users feedback is anyway so I'd imagine that any feedback against paid services would be completely ignored. YouTube is known for completely ignoring it's users and we all know it. YouTube knows we know this and that we have grown to accept that this is how YouTube is, so they will do what ever they want and we will just have to deal with it.

bwahahaha unless they come to arrangement with companies to produce PROFESSIONAL content on par with Netflix or CR then no-one is going to take this up. Even more amusing when YouTube brings in millions (if not billions) of dollars in advertisement revenue and google were willing to pay $1.5 billion for the site back in 2006.

I have adblock anyway…
Posted 2/24/15
adblock plus, noScript, Best Proxy Switcher, and youtube downloader

This will be amusing. I use CR more than youtube. Only put music streams from youtube. Maybe an educational video here and there, anime from funimation, or content from popular youtubers like nigahiga or matpat(gametheory), and ASMR.

But so much music, like my entire watch again list is music.

Well...at least they're not thinking about pulling a Hulu and keeping ads whether you're a paid subscriber or not. My only line in the sand is that the ability to access content at all ought to remain free, and also that no class of "premium videos" be established which are only accessible via paid subscription. Keep to those terms and I shall remain quiet and still.

I hardly ever go to Youtube anymore besides for some cute videos here and there that I'm linked to, so I'd never pay for a service like that. I also wonder how it'd fare for those people that make their living through ads playing on their videos on there though. I wonder if the big guys would go to other services?

I'd rather support individual youtubers through Patreon than pay youtube itself. I wouldn't pay monthly for youtube at any price.

You can't use an adblocker on a phone or tablet, I assume. Not to mention, Adobe flash doesn't work on an iPad since Steve Jobs cursed Adobe till he was buried ten feet under.

They'll be just fine.

Sure you can.

They work better if said device is rooted, however.

I have the opposite opinion on the matter. I've got absolutely no problem with them making a pay to watch service where they got exclusive shows (by professional movie studios) that you can't watch anywhere else sorta like Netflix, Hulu, CR and FUNimation already does to some degree.

But what I've got a problem with is that there are a LOOOT of people who barely make a living on advertisements from youtube for their videos. And now youtube will shut them out... I just think this is a dick move by them since they're already drawing in billions on youtube.

How much did you tube pay for its contents? Zero? And they want to charge for it?

No, but they do pay to host the content and maintain the site. It's the overhead that they are probably trying to cover. Personally, I wouldn't pay for it ads or no ads, but I understand their reasoning.
