It's quite the opposite with me. My parents are the ones moving out and they're leaving me the house

I ran away at 14.

Evil step mother and a useless father just wanted someone to help him with three kids.

19, if I were still in the Caribbean I wouldn't have left until I got married or unless I went to study abroad. Some there never leave their parents' home. I'm glad I got to leave then. The only regret was that I didn't get to leave at 18. Mother left home at that age and opted to study abroad just so she'd have the whole Atlantic ocean between her and her mother. It looks as if father did the same thing to have distance from his family.

I know the feeling.... Rent, Water, electricity, car payment, car insurance, student loan payment, health insurance (now )... T-T what does money look like again?

never.

am 26 and still [email protected]

I don't really see a good reason for me to move out... my parents' home is a spacious four bedroom brand new home, and nobody lives in it except the three of us... so it feels like a waste if only the two of them live there... and I spent like a year decorating the interior... so... I don't feel like leaving any time soon xD.

I would move out if I had a boyfriend or something... but I can't even keep a man for longer than 3 seconds... so might as well enjoy my luxurious life...

I had moved out when I was 20, (after doing a semester at college, moving into an apartment), but due to medical complications, I am back living with them because I'm unable to afford living by myself. I still pay rent and so I'm not mooching off their hospitality. I still grocery shop, pay rent, and pay my way...

Still live with them, and I wouldn't want to move out. My culture revolves around a lot of family and kinship, and the eldest son is suppose to stay and live with his parents even after marriage. Even if it wasn't for my culture I'd still feel the same way, I'm just too attached to them. I don't understand why most Americans move out and leave their parents though, especially when they place them into retirement homes. I mean, they spent all that time watching over and taking care of you to get that kind of thanks back?

Moved out to dorms at 18, then stayed in an apartment for a while, then moved back because it's cheaper. The plan is to move out when I get a stable job. After their retirement, my parents would be moving around between mine and my sister's place (assuming she doesn't leave the country). One of my parents worked in a nursing home, and they're pretty sick of that environment by now.
