Sometimes when I'm bored I find myself wondering for fun. I really only care about it when it comes to business. To me that's the only time it matters. Say what you want but I like money.

Do you ever wonder what people think about you?

Obviously. Who doesn't?

Whoever says they don't wonder/care what people think about them are lying either to themselves or to everyone around them. We cannot Network, cannot exist in society, without caring, at some level, what people think of us.

The trick is to follow our own path, regardless of what others think of us. But, as the power of religion, racial differences, social-status differences, wealth, and cultural differences have shown us, that is no small feat. In fact, it is impossible. So, we all do the best we can.

I'm easily offended and I worry about giving off the wrong impression but at the same time I don't worry.

Certainly, but some people wouldn't be lying that don't care. Certainly you've no doubt met one or two already.

They come in two varieties:

1) Supremely self-confident, extroverted, typically quite successful

2) Psychopaths, anti-social, assholes.

Those can either be on opposite ends, or poles, or overlap substantially to being almost indistinguishable.

But, I agree with the spirit of your message. The point is to have balance I think.

I do, but if the person ends up hating me for being annoying or what not, then let it be

I disagree with yours, but I respect your opinion.

Mm? How so? I said I agreed with you. By doing so my spirit is congruent.

But no worries.

*sigh* No, you didn't agree with me. You agreed with 'the spirit' of my words. I am factually, 100 percent, without equivocation or ambiguity except in the most extreme and improbable cases of physiological mutation (Example: a baby born with 1/4th brain that can't distinguish between one thought or another), correct. Including your #1 and your #2.

Again, I do respect your opinion. I am not looking to rub you the wrong way. If you really want to talk about this point with me, I'll be happy to have a private conversation with you about it. Explain details etc.

Take me up on my offer. Who knows? I might convince you.

All of the time although mainly out of curiosity. I could care less whether or not they liked me but it would be interesting to see what exactly about me they liked or didn't like.

Yes but in a more of a sense of curiosity than a sense of worry. I honestly dont give a shit what other people think of me and my actions.

Alot of people would say "isnt societal pressure for what other people think of you supposed to enforce you to not be a dick to people"

To which I say: I really dont see it like that, I have the viewpoint of "I wouldn't want someone to be a dick to me so I wont be a dick to them". People should care for others feelings based on sympathy not on some selfish sense of pride. This goes beyond just personally being nice to people but realizing and fighting institutions like sexism and racism.

The great thing about my viewpoint is it doesnt let dicks who say "I dont leave any thought unexpressed in my head no matter what people say" frame there douchebaggery as some noble societal rebellion.

Out of courtesy I cannot repeat what was written in confidence , however,

I will say there is no fortune cookie wisdom that'll work for all. Thanks to genetics.

Some ppl operate above and beneath norms. Some feel more, Some don't feel. There's no cure-for-all advice.

We all have to find what works best for us, and walk our own paths.

I do wonder what people think about me, but mostly in a professional sense. Whether or not I pass a job interview and where I am placed in a company depends on making a good impression on recruiters and interviewers.
