Like I stated before LIES!!!!!!!!
I am not obsessed with this at all. I'm not trying to figure out how one sees white and gold.

How the hell is this white and gold! I don't see it! It is a blue dress that's bordering on periwinkle with some black lace! Gyaaah! I'm stressing too much on this!

i saw white and gold, white and gold, white and gold, and then I scrolled up and it was dramatically blue and black. i hit something and the header with all the business insider page stuff and it was gold and white again... then scroll down and it's white and gold white and gold, then it all the sudden started switching back and forth making my eyes buggy.

that's why i checked it with GIMP. and the colors are almost exactly in between the two debated colors for each portion. (and the blue/white leans more towards one brightness, and the gold/black leans almost diametrically opposite in brightness on the chart) Blue and black are complimentary and so are white and black, i can't think they chose areas with complimentary colors by accident.

And on that day the internet split into two sides. TeamBlackandBlue and TeamWhiteandGold. It was all because of some dress...What has this world come to?

I still believe this is an Illuminati conspiracy.

After sampling several areas of the dress I would say it is blue and black. Parts may have been exposed to sunlight for too long washing out the colors in some areas to gray and gold. No matter how lightfast your dye is sunlight will wreck it if given time.

It's black and blue. The picture of the dress is overexposed due to the lighting.

i've gotten to the point of staring at it where i can actually see the colors change as i scroll down the image, but i can confirm that photographer consensus seems to be yes, it's blue and black.
