i like week by week but ill repeat the last 2 previous episodes before the new one airs so i have the plot fresh in my mind, if it is an old anime that is completed i have no qualms about pulling an all nighter to finish a 13 episoder or doing a weekend of nothing to complete a 26 episoder

I prefer to marathon but I want to watch current anime as it is coming out so I do a lot of week to week watching as well.

It depends. I typically marathon, but I'll have a small amount of currently airing that I'll watch weekly. When the season is over, I'll probably watch some one cours and bang them out in a day.

And then there's plenty anime that I think are better suited to marathoning. Battle shounen is one genre for sure. I recently got into Naruto over last summer and there is no way in hell that I would have watched that weekly and kept up with it, but marathon-ing it was a pretty decent experience (skipping filler, of course).

Both. Marathon for slower pace and thought provoking shows. For action packed stuff like Yowamushi Pedal, once a week is fine. I often times marathon enough to catch up on shows and then watch weekly.

I used to marathon series. That was because I never trusted the fansubs in finishing their work at a specific day. So, I never could watch week to week (except for series like Naruto, Bleach or One Piece). The quality of the video and subs were other factors for procrastinating one series.
Now, having the opportunity to watch weekly (1 hour after the broadcast in Japan) is really a relief.
Pros:
- I don't have to deal with choosing what I will watch later (having 20+ ongoing series in my queue keeps me busy the entire season season)
- It's scheduled
- I can see people's reactions episode by episode "in real time"
Cons:
- Cliffhangers.

Of course I have to marathon for completed series, but my list is pretty short. (I watch them between seasons)

I prefer to marathon. Things are fresh in my head and I don't have to remember the story of 15 different shows. Plus, I hate waiting a week just for a lame episode to come out.

But...weekly has a perk: I can't keep going, "ahhh, I'll just watch one more episode...one more episode. Okay...the next one will be the last."

I like doing it weekly, it gives me a break. Lets me get other things done, it doesn't take up an afternoon, and it makes the cliffhangers more enjoyable, or hate able.

I prefer watching weekly... if I don't feel drained, like I have the past week, which puts me a week behind on everything. Watching weekly and being a week behind does kind of reduce your will to keep up.

This is me too. Except when I find a series that is already completed then I might marathon it if it is interesting.

Same here.

Although the last show I marathoned was Space Brothers over the Summer. Highly recommended!

Depends on the show. I tend to just watch an episode when I'm in the right mood to watch it. Some shows I enjoy by watching in big chunks with month long breaks in between. Other shows are one episode a day for me. Some shows I would watch weekly. Very very rarely do I finish an entire series in one to two days.

Also, I second Stark's recommendation. Go watch Space Brothers! One of the best anime related decisions you'll ever make!

Oh I love that show.

I actually cant remember the last show I marathoned. I have not watched Parasyte yet and I hear good things about so I might have to marathon that soon.

When I first started watching Anime I only watched a few episodes a day. It's been a long time since then and I would have to say I Marathon watch everything. I don't have any friends that live nearby or any one to hangout with. So I really just sit around all day doing nothing. Then I figured hey! I'm gonna get back into anime (This is a while back) and I have to say I prob finish a series a day usually around 26 episodes sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. But probably 90% of the anime I have watched as of now I have completed it in one sitting. I really do not like having to come back and forget some things and watch again. I rather just watch the whole series at once. There's only one downside to this. I don't know if this is just me but when I watch it all at once. I tend to forget a lot of things even names of characters. And since I do this everyday for around 10 hours. I finish a few series a week. And if I look back and try to think of all the names of the series I completed that week. I forget. It seems like if I didn't really really love the anime, Like re-watch material like. I tend to forget quiet a lot of it. This is just a useless example but I watched AOT about a week ago. The only character name I remember without try harding to remember is Erin.

Anyways it's Marathon Watching for me.
