how is it depressing? o.o

It's a drawback of some artist. Maybe it's because they are depressed that they are artist and chose to express it through art...
Depending on the artist, it might be because their art is never recognized. For others it maybe because they are very vulnerable emotionally. Maybe they think or feel too much, get lost in negative thoughts, using it as fuel for their art.

I agree with you....but then again music is a form of expressing one's self even if the song is depressing or happy.....you can put your emotions into it.....but not all artists make songs out of depression ....you can make happy and amazing music not just for fans but for yourself.....to deliver a message to others because others can relate to how you feel.....and even depressing music has beautiful meaning....which help people who go through tough times....but that's just my view of it as a musician.

I guess guitar is.. I've been playing for a long time, but just recently stopped because I lost passion for it. Every once and a while I'll play.

Most musicians we don't get to hear, unfortunately. I hear record labels just throw demos into the trash, and it's like winning the lotto. So many bands here in LA don't get anywhere. And I feel like that just depresses musicians. And when they try to compare themselves with other musicians too.

I'm speaking out of my experience with friends and family btw they are my references.

Ah well me personally I wouldn't go get signed with a record label or any of those because of that.....I will/would probably do it all alone from an independent kind of thing like why bother trying to get signed by people who throw away music and stuff? when you can do it yourself and promote your music on your own...yea it's hard work but you know if you want it then....it's totally worth it....it really is....

I'm amazing at creative writing (my top talent). And I'm not tone deaf, so I can sing pretty well. And I guess I'm good at giving advice and am very intuitive-- I have a very good asshole/awesome meter xD But then I'm pretty average at everything else and I'm not very sporty/good at "wife" duties. And none of my talents are very helpful... music and being an author are very hard to get into But I'm currently a psychology major, so that's not too bad.

I can fix pretty much anything on any car. My parents wouldn't get me a car so I had to buy crappy ones and fix them. Then I worked as a mechanic for a little while till I got sick of it. I don't like doing it anymore, but I'm glad that I know how to.

If you want something in life like being a musician....you have to work hard to get there.....there are tons of musicians who took years and lots of tough times but they eventually got up there and now are living their dreams. Yes it's a gamble but if you want to truly be up there then you have to keep trying and never give up otherwise you won't even try at all......just have to promote yourself and show others what you can do and make good music that you enjoy as well as others can and so many other factors......but it's worth living that life....well for me personally I would >.>
