Keep in mind that Premium+ members are paying twice as much as you now so they should get more perks for that. Thats kinda how things work, if you want more, pay more. They also mentioned this contest back when Premium+ was announced that the contests are for premium+ members only now and that the first contest will only be available to members in the US and Canada.

As mentioned on Page 1, we're starting with US & Canada and working to expand beyond these territories.
I'm so terribly sorry that we weren't able to expand beyond that for this first iteration of the contest, but that said we're going to be giving these away 4 times a year.
So, please bear with us as we work on availability.
Putting this together was A LOT of work.

They are becoming a larger company and dividing their users because they know no matter what they do the users will still most likely shut up and pay. They are doing this for customer service as well. Premium+ members get "better" customer service which is absolute garbage. I have been a paying member on this site since 2009. You should never prioritize certain members because they pay you more. I miss the days when Shinji actually cared more for the site and the content rather than the money. Sure, money is nice, but you lost the engagement between your customers.


they may only have offers to do this with the higher paying customers is why they have to have someone helping them pay for this contest.

You're not wrong! We really do want people to upgrade to Premium+ if they want even more out of their membership.

We included all of our content in the cheapest membership tier available so that you wouldn't have to pay much to make the most out of Crunchyroll. And if you want an even better experience, we're giving really cool opportunities to our Premium+ members. I think that's pretty neat, personally

At the cost of customer service. That is my biggest gripe. The customer service is already horrible and we are ignored, dividing customers by saying Premium+ gets priority access is a slap in the face. It's a terrible business decision. I would fire who ever made such a stupid decision to divide their customers.

Edit: By the way $6.95 a month is decent, but Funimation charges $4.95 and their customer service is pretty darn good. I get replies in less than 2 hours most of the times. I haven't had a single time where it was beyond 8 hours on a business day. Crunchyroll my support gets either ignored or gets a response almost 48 hours later and they blame my computer for having problems when it works perfectly fine on YouTube, Hulu, Funimation, Netflix, etc. Heck, I can stream 20 Funimation 1080p videos at once on my internet with no lag but I can't do a single one on Crunchyroll. It's trash.

I agree with this comment. Quebec is part of Canada. Why exclude one area?
I don't know as of now, but Shonen Jump of Viz Media did that too when I was still subscribed 6 years ago. All their contests were for US and Canada residents, but excluded Quebec.

It's a bit crap when you've been paying premium + prices for a service that other people now get for free and the only perk is a fairly childish essay contest that you cannot enter unless you live in the USA, a place where you may be surprised to learn, most people don't live.
