What isn't taken up with mortgage, bills, groceries, IRA's, daughter's college savings account, insurance... um, yea. What money?

I spend what I have left over on going skiing, camping and fly fishing. I also treat myself to a bottle of bourbon every now and then, and a beer or two.

Needs first, wants tomorrow.
When tomorrow comes..
Needs first, wants tomorrow.

Do that until you have more then double saved of what your want is.
Then you can buy it. Then the next time you have a "want"..

Needs first, wants tomorrow...

This works well when your buying big ticket items like
highend computers, big vacation packages, cars etc.

Checking acc hasn't been under 5 digits for years so
it must be working for me xD

It's usually food, though the largest amounts of money go toward paying for school and such.

Seriously?

You're asking a nerd, here.

These are just my spending envelopes, by the way. My actual budget is a bit more complex. I'm on the Dave Ramsey plan, so I don't have any debt, and no FICO score (because it really is pointless to have one).

For those of you just starting out, I suggest going to a place that will explain the ins and outs of finances, without the pressure of having to buy anything. http://www.daveramsey.com/home/

Almost always on video games. When it's not video games it's food. When it's not food it's merchandise.

Computer build. But for the time being nothing since I'm broke unless I absolutely need it, like gas.
I'm looking for a job (not really) so I can save up money to build another computer.
