I had the same problem, and tried everything here on this thread to no avail.. Until I deleted the Crunchyroll files on my Xbox HDD.
Merely deleting the app doesn't delete all the files, you have to go to system setting and storage and delete the data.

Have you tried clearing the cache on your console as well?

^what he said.

It works after that. Thanks.

Ok I cleared system cache on my xbox360 hardrive and deleted the crunchyroll app then reinstalled it and then tried to access it but I could not open the app unless I downloaded the update! So after the update downloaded and I tried to open the app I got stuck at the same "authenticating" screen and can't get past it. So im stumped guess I'll just have to be patient until this issue is resolved. :p

Ok that worked thanks alot "Rickylrico" I owe you one!
I went through my hardrive and opened the crunchyroll folder and deleted all the files. And then reinstalled the app and was able to get in and login. Thanks again!

Did you go and into your hardrive/games and apps and find the crunchyroll file go in it and delete everything! I had to go to the website and deactivate my xbox360 from my devices list. After I downloaded the crunchyroll app again and clicked on it did work but had to enter a code on the website to activate the xbox and just logged in like normal its been working good so far.

Ok, so I think I may try this BUT...

This is a client side workaround. I pay Crunchyroll money for a service and being forced to seek a solution on my end isnt a good customer-provider relationship.

Yeah I agree and I emailed them and they gave me some options to try but they didn't work. Thats why I checked out the forums to see if anyone had a solution.

I was also stuck at authenticating, and I deleted everything from the HDD, cleared system cache, unlinked my Xbox 360 from Crunchyroll and now it works. Thanks everyone.

I have had this issue with no resolve. Tech support has replied to my emails, nothing works. I have even give as far as to mess with the network settings (their suggestion). Looks like Xbox One and Roku it is... The 360 app was the most stable though.

Edit: Of course it is working now after one last attempt...

Steps:

1. Delete app
2. Delete data (settings -> system -> storage -> Crunchyroll)
3. Deactivate on website (settings -> My Devices (left side))
4. Re-download app and try again.

Not sure but I removed my partitioned 32GB USB before downloading again.

I was having many problems with ALL of my crunchy apps, and I've found the solution. We shouldn't have to do this, and the company needs to find a workaround, but my queue was easily 50+ shows. I made a note of them all, and kept the most important and imminent shows in my queue, which is down to 15 or so. Everything works fine now. Hope this helps!
