Hey all - how is everyone doing?

This thread has went super quiet.

I've been trying to study for my exams. Luckily I only have to study for two subjects (maths and philosophy), unfortunately the people who designed the philosophy course must have been a bunch of idiots because most of it makes no sense and I'm struggling greatly with it and have all but rage quitted at this point.

Good luck then! Praying you are given the wisdom you need to get through the difficulties.

I just wanted to post about a joke I heard in today's Sunday homily. I can't remember it exactly, but I remember enough of it to tell it in my own way.

So there was a married priest who visited his dentist, and the dentist had to pull out his remaining teeth so that he could fit a full denture into his mouth. When Sunday Mass came, he noticed that his dentures made it extremely difficult and painful to speak during the homily, so he spoke for only 9 minutes. The following Sunday, he spoke for only 10, and the following after that, 2 hours and 40 minutes. The parishioners of the parish were astounded at this, and many went to approach him about this after Mass. The priest explained that during the 1st 2 weeks he had his new set of dentures in, it made it extremely difficult for him to speak for lengthy periods of time, so that's why those homilies were as short as they were, but as to why he spoke for 2 hours and 40 minutes during his last homily, he reasoned that it was simply because he put on his wife's dentures by mistake, and thus, couldn't shut up.

How's everyone doing? I'm busy at work & busy at home! Getting a LOT of stuff ready for before we leave town to visit my family next weekend (not in 2 days, the following weekend). Everything is happening really, really fast it feels. Especially with babies. They keep on growing on me...they're almost 11 months old. They'll be 1 year old in July. YEARGH!

Also, my middle daughter will be turning 4 at the end of the month...and then a few days later, I turn 32...and a day later is my 8th wedding anniversary. A lot happening.

Went to a church conference all day yesterday on church revitalization hosted by the people from 9Marks in DC. It was a great time to be around Godly men talking about how the Lord is blessing and helping their churches! As a member of a tiny church which is not exactly healthy (we're leaving our building because it's far too expensive to upkeep and repair from YEARS of disrepair), it was seriously encouraging to see what was happening in these churches which started in much the same shape that we're in now!

I really haven't been active here. I need to get back into being active. Hope everyone is well.

Also I'm taking a class on the Christian mind and been watching lectures from this site. I'll include a link to it in the resource forum

Hope to see you & everyone else get more active! It's more fun when they are.

Desiring God, eh? Good old John Piper. He has some great sermons. One of my favorites was his series on battling sin from the book of Romans. Especially the second one: http://www.desiringgod.org/messages/how-to-kill-sin-part-2
