I'd either do smell or sight. It's a hard choice. But since I've been wearing glasses my whole life, I"d probably choose eyesight. Not only will it relieve me from glasses, it will also enhance it.

I would choose vision if the improvement weren't that lame compared to all the other sense. Like I can already see all primary colors, so I can see my colors perfectly fine. If the vision were different like, more than perfect vision [example: 20/8 (listing that specifically since that's the best vision ever recorded for a human)] then maybe.

But I'd be stuck between smell and sight. Maybe hearing.

For me I am fighting between Sight and Taste...

1. Sight - Awesome, but if I look at the Sun I will go insta-blind.
2. Taste - Bad food? Super Sensitivity to temperature? uh oh...

For the others...

3. Hearing - Oh god no, I will hear babies crying all day err'day
4. Smell - Yup no explanations necessary.
5. Touch - Super no no. So sensitive, I may literally "explode" because of that heightened sense....

Sight.
Been getting harder to see as I get older. Glasses don't fix as much as they used to. I know people with contacts and eye surgery and sooner or later as they get old they need glasses for reading or something. Your eyes don't focus as well as they did when you were younger and I'm finding that out lately. It would be nice if I didn't have to deal with that crap anymore.

Sight. I don't like wearing contacts or wearing glasses for too long.

I'm a visual learner and I also dabble in illustrations and designs, as you can see on my avi and some of my works on my pages and pics.
I got to have more edge in the vision department since ladies can see better colors than men do. And that is why they hired more women in Kodak studios.

Carrots don't really good for your eyes. It's never been proven that they do. Carrot was actually a code word that pilots used while they infiltrated enemy territories during the war.

Well its not entirely false, while carrots themselves might not actually do much for the vision, they do however contain vitamin a which does help with your vision ever so much. But then again vitamin a can be found in other things as well.

Taste probably would be best, the better to enjoy good alcohol and food with, smell would go with that too, but the downsides are more severe.

Hearing would probably be my second choice, provided it doesn't also make me more prone to hearing loss than normal.

Then sight, least possible downsides, but also not that much of an improvement relatively speaking.

Things I considered:

Sight: This is the sense people depend on most. I knew if I made it too good, like double or triple vision, people would mostly choose that. And that would also have no drawbacks. Still, a good choice due to 20/20 and the sense restoration clause. This is my second choice.

Smell: The sense we probably rely on least, so I gave it a big buff. I think few people chose it since nobody knows what it is like to live with such a powerful sense. I anticipated people would choose it less because they're more in touch with the other senses but I'm surprised not more people chose this sense. This is my first choice.

Touch: Basically a less cerebral version of taste with more uses and more of a drawback. This is my last choice.

Taste: For people who want little disruption in life. The least distuptive choice. This is my third choice.

Hearing: Got a buff that's roughly equal to the drawback, I'd say. This is my fourth choice.

The problem with any of em really is the severe drawbacks. Smell is actually a heavy sense that people use quite often. It directly ties into your taste. It's said that if you have little to no sense of smell it will make your taste really dulled.

Most people wouldn't want hearing due to living in a city where noise is a major factor and increasing it even half as much would be a real pain with city noises.

I saw a lot of people say sight because they either have eye issues or just hate having to wear glasses/contacts. If your sight improved id imagine your increase of light intake would also happen. Again in the city it would be more of a hinderance than a benefit.

Taste would actually be really bad. The fact that you wouldn't be able to eat anything thats not super bland, otherwise the overwhelming taste of sweet, sour, spicy, salty would make the food impossible to eat.

Touch would be the most effective due to if your careful you can easily avoid getting hurt. But then everything changes if your in the wilderness away from the things that would normally be a pain in the city would be beneficial in nature, with the exception of touch which would actually be the least useful and most harmful.

Most people just think of oh look i have super this or that but fail to consider the downside to such things. It's something to think about when choosing one of em.

It would be nice to see the full color spectrum.

But I'm going with touch, the ability to feel everything from the radiating light and airwaves. giving me extreme sight, temperature and hearing.

Sight, I always wondered what 20/20 vision would be like.

I wouldn't choose sight or hearing since it would change how I perceive games and shows. If I chose touch, I would "explode" during sexy time.

Hm, sounds good actually.
Feeling the vibrations of voices and music makes me feel good already, strangely.
