...Someone who shares your last name. (not married)

I am NOT talking incest here, or cousins, or anything of the like. This would never happen to me because my last name is so rare that if someone shared it, we would have to be relatives, but there are a LOT of really common names out there. Take Smith or Brown. It would not be rare to find someone who shares the name.

Would you be completely comfortable with it? How do you think people would react? There is bound to be misunderstandings with some people, like repeatedly mistaking you for being relatives or married.

For me personally, it would feel a bit weird...

Actually, I could easily see it as an oppurtunity to get a lot of laughs at the expense of the confusion .

I don't know, my last name is fairly unique for the US at least. I think it would be odd just to run into someone with my last name or the likes let alone even marry them.

Lol, I could totally see that.

Get people to think you are siblings, then just start hardcore making out.

yes. i don't find it weird... to have the same name... i actually find it funny and amusing.

but i wouldn't date someone who looks similar to me or exactly like me. there was this one guy in high school who looks like me, and everyone thought he was my little brother... even though we are both asian, we didn't even come from the same asian country... it was so creepy.

then there was another guy in high school who is half turkish and half chinese; and he told me that he was 'happy" that people were saying he looks similar to me... and i was just like... "Why would you feel happy? am not even good looking" lol...

Mine's rare enough I can't see that happening but like Neugenx I'd have way too much fun with it.

My ex-fiancee and I had the same color hair, eyes and same skintone . I used to call her Dad, Dad and boy did people get confused at times . I can just picture the situation if we had the same last name too .

Oh you know what I would do,

Introduce him to my friends and see their reactions when they find out we have the same last name.

(I'll be sure to tell them he isn't a relative)

What about someone who shares your sibling's first name?

For me? Impossible.

Would be a little weird, but if I liked her, then that wouldn't stop me.

In Mexico, where you get paternal and maternal last names, it's quite funny.
I have friends whose last names are Garcia Garcia.

It would be super awkward for me because I have a really unique last name where absolutely everyone else with it is related to me somehow by blood/marriage, except in the case of adoption, which there are a few of.

Mine is fairly common. I'd have no problem with it.

Haha, mine's not so common... It would definitely be strange but also be sort of cool...I guess it also depends how the other person would react to it.
