I like expensive watches and have a few so the 17k price tag doesn't bother me... however... Apple has already admitted that the current battery life might be as low as 3-hours.

Three hours of battery life. On a 17k watch. Now THAT is useless to me and not something I'm willing to sink 17k into.

I'm sure battery life will improve over the years -- I'm positive it will -- so I'll wait. I'm in no rush to be a first adopter here. I waited on Google Glass and that paid off and I'll wait to see what the second or third version of the iWatch is like.

I like the concept and the price doesn't bother me so we'll see in a couple years...

/Edit... wait a minute.... just read further into some of the PR on this beast. The battery is replaceable. Hmm... that's interesting. Replaceable = Up-gradable? If that's the case...

I know there are watches that cost over 350 dollars. It's a personal choice to buy watches, because eventually some watches such as rolex and cartier can be something you can pass down. However, this watch isn't really something you can pass down (doubt it'll last that long.) HOWEVER, it is still a personal choice. If you can afford it, then go ahead. What difference does it make with people who buy expensive clothes that changes every season?

I don't get the smart watch appeal, the screens are to small to be useful for anyone that doesn't have small hands or a stylist. You still have to keep your smart device on you for the connection. So it's not like your eliminating anything just adding more shit to carry around that's a dumbed down version of the object you have in your poket still.

Who even uses watches anymore is the question, I just use my phone/computer to check the time.

Whoever buys this will own a watch that is smarter than them.

And that watch isn't exactly a smart invention.

If I was a major business owner who was rich and successful, I would probably buy this watch just for the hell of it.
Since I am technically a normal person, there is absolutely no way I would even consider buying this.

Watches in general aren't necessary. And ones that link to your phone... I mean, the reason nobody uses a watch anymore is directly related to cell phone usage.

It's basically a fashion piece, and apple has always, always, always been about luxury and exclusivity.

It doesn't surprise me in the least.

...meh I bought a pebble steel for crazy cheap. It looks good, has 7 day battery and the always on screen is readable any time of day. It tracks my steps, sleep, and calories. Most importantly its a damn watch, not the Kanye West of phone accessories
