So for $17,000 I can get a gold plated watch that connects to my phone so i dont have to waste 4 seconds of my life to reach into my pocket and actually pull the phone out? WELL FUCKING SIGN ME UP! Hell i'll buy two! One for each wrist! I have a little extra money, so I said to myself "Self, what is the best way to spend $34,000?" Sure, I could invest it in the stock market, and in 20 years, probably have about $120,000, but I wanted to do something now. I considered giving the money to the world food program. With that, they could feed 25,663 school age children, or 22,000 refugees for a week. But at the end of the week, the money is gone with nothing to show for it. I thought, well what about helping fewer people? The same amount of money could feed 494 school-aged children for a year. But at the end of the year, the kids are hungry again, and I'll have nothing to show for it. What about education? In some countries, it costs only about $500 per year to send a child to school. $34,000 could send 77 kids to school for a year. Education lasts a lifetime, but really -- how long do kids in third world countries live anyway?

I really wanted something that would leave a lasting impression. That is when I stumbled across this little gem. The Apple iWatch has a practically unbreakable sapphire crystal dial. The case is built like a gilded tank. It is waterproof, crushproof, and if properly cared for, should last forever. Much like the golden idols found in Egypt after thousands of years, this golden idol will signal to future generations that I had a bunch of money once, and I knew what to do with it. Not to mention it provides a good weighted backhand to keep the servants in check while they wax my yachts!

We were talking about the future of technology like this in our IT Foundation class. And I thought it was funny, because we researched the Apple Watch and pretty much debunked it in as many ways as we could. We watched the ads, looked at the models, and read reviews about it. Even to the point where we were pointing out marketing terms they were using: such as the "ion-x glass" and "retina display". I agree that the Apple Watch will only be bought by rich people, if it were to sell at all. I'm sorry but we already have watches that can tell the time in different ways, fitness trackers, and that can measure blood pressure and heart rate, what's the point? They are taking something so simple as a watch and turning it into a phone. I know Apple is trying to be "innovative", but it seems more or less a scam in my opinion.

Hilarious.

I'm bashing the hell out of this watch, yet I am getting one.

Or....to be precise...I am getting a free one since my aunt's company wants to give her one and she doesn't want it herself.

So, yay?

I'd like to see someone buy that, just so I can mock them for being just SO stupid.

Once it comes out or gets out a little more, either way 100% can say that celebs will buy it up to be "cool"

That one (the gold Rolex) has diamonds and other gems lol that's why it's expensive since you're actually paying for the diamonds (and they are expensive, my sister got a ring with 6 small diamonds and she payed a lot for it).

The apple watch is garbage and looks like one. I hate apple because everything that I get from them dies fast (laptop, tablet, ipods ) so I'm done with apple forever and ever.

my point is that it's a luxury item, and not nearly the most expensive one at that. did i mention it's a luxury item?
the regular apple watch is 350 bucks, which is fairly affordable, albeit still expensive (though not that expensive compared to competing smart watches such as the gear). Apple has already released luxury smartphone and luxury tablets, but you don't see anyone crying over them. why? because those are targeted towards the rich, not for the average joe.

17K would be enough for a investment in stock market or could buy a god dammet PC 16k resolution 4D and a car

A 18,000 dollar watch obviously isn't meant for ordinary people. Apple is not trying to appeal to the majority of the population with their top of the line watch, but rather extremely rich individuals who would otherwise spend an equal amount of money on a different watch.

16k screens cost 25k each just for the monitor. I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself buddy.

Imagine the celebrities getting these for free. You know, like on award shows, even if you don't win, the nominees get to go with free gift baskets and, nowadays, even a car.
