I need to play mh4u a lot more. I'm only just in upper rank. I mainly use charge blade because it's new. I can switch to pretty much anything and do alright, I've not used the insect glaive yet though.

Just started this game and I must say, very impressed. I'm all new to the monster hunter series and already fallen in love with it. But there is this one thing, why do all the weapons seem so slow? Everything takes alot of time to swing around exept the regular longsword, knife and shield and the dual blades. I hope can get used to this

It's the price of the strength of the other melee weapons. Sword & shield and longsword are probably the best starter weapons though, unless a different weapon really clicks for you.

Hmm let's take Charge Blade's Ultra Burst for example

It is just the weapon's nature, so that you can't just turn MH4U into DmC with monster
The Hunter took his sweet time looking cool and putting all the vial into the axe then even spend another second, doing a weak upswing before slamming it down on the enemy head ... Imagine if that attack's animation got fasten and shorten into just charge everything into vial while swinging the axe down in the monster's head ... Charge Blade will become the most overpowered weapon.

Another example is why your hunter always flex after chugging something so that you have to see what the monster is doing before if it is safe to chug something or not.
