This is something that's so trivial, but this is CR and we can make a post about anything

Who should text first? The guy or the girl?

Guys, how do you feel about texting first?

Girls, same questions as the guys.

For me, I feel like both parties can text each other at anytime, there shouldn't be one side that should engage the conversation first all the time.

Who should text first? Whoever wants to.

There doesn't need to be rules for that kind of thing.

Before I was taken, I'd usually expect the guy to text first... I was always too afraid I'd be bothersome in any way. It was just my personality. But sometimes, stepping up to the plate wasn't so bad.

This goes beyond an issue that doesn't matter, who texts first is impossible to control. If the person who you are getting to know wants to open a line of communication they will do so. Same goes the other way if you want to get to know someone, talk to them.

Doesn't matter really. If your chick feels some sort of way because she's always texting you first be a gentleman and make it a two way street instead of being a little bitch about it.

I think the first time should be whoever received the number from the other party just to confirm it is indeed the correct one. In the majority of cases this is usually the guy.

Do people really worry about this? No wonder this generation has caused so many people to lose faith in humanity.

This.

But after this stage, it's usually whoever wants to text first. To me, I usually don't have anything to talk about with others or not able to keep a conversation going so I don't usually text first.

I don't even know what to say I'm so dumbfounded at this moment. This thread doesn't even make sense....

I wouldn't personally know as I don't text, but I agree with CarpetGunner in that whomever received the number first should send a message to confirm if it's right or not. From there, it doesn't matter.

Neither. Both people need their fucking phones smashed because obviously they don't know how to use them and it's causing too much god damned unnecesary anxiety.

If I'm always texting first, I suspect the other isn't actually interested, but is just being polite and chatting whenever I text. If the other always texts first, I expect the other to suspect I'm not interested, so I try to make sure to text first sometimes.

They can both go at the same time. In a text msg based conversation, it's not a challenge at all to talk about two things at once.

The tougher question is who goes last? When does the conversation end?

What if they have expensive phones like Samsung Galaxy or iPhone? Smashing them would be a waste. It'd be more productive to take their phones, sell them, and feed starving children with that money.

Oh and you're welcome!
