Who did you hang out with in highschool?
Posted 3/12/15
People who didn't annoy or bore me.

What are preps?

Ha, we usually use the word "prep" in my school to describe all of those girls who are:

-Called "popular" even though everyone hates them.
-Obsessed with looks, wether it's their own, or other people's.
-Judgemental of pretty much everyone outside of their clique.
-Usually on cheer, danceline, or some kind of sports team.
-Wears wayyy too much makeup.
-Dates jerks who, even though in the end they'll make them cry, they still come running back to them.
-Gossip and talk trash about the people they don't like.
-Create way too much drama

Etc,etc.

I guess we don't really use the word the right way, but whatever. Rich kids don't go to my school. Most of them end up going to a private/catholic school.

People hanged out with me not the other way around, I did my own thing. Was a bit of a drifter.

Given that I was a military brat, I didn't really "hang out" with anyone. I had a few friends here and there, but having moved around a lot I took time to let my guard down and by the time I made real friends it was time to leave for one reason or another.

I'm currently in high school and I hang out with mostly the "preps" you could say because of Cheer but they know my love for Anime and there fine with it but unfortunately they don't like watching it ...

That's really cool! Mainly because in my highschool, almost EVERYONE thought that its totally weird to watch it.

Really that's a first usually all my "prep' friends respect my love for Anime and don't find me weird at all . Some of my guy friends on the football team like watching Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball & Sword Art Online but my Cheer friends don't watch it but they still are my friends. I mean it would be stupid for them not to be because of me watching Anime . People at my school know me as the cutie nerdy gal that loves Anime xD

Wow that blows my mind actually, but being in Tennessee i guess is why. There's the sterotype for it being full of rednecks and hillbillies but it's pretty much true where i live. Like even most of the nerdy people i hung out with, thought it was weird too. Going to a school like that would've been awesome! XD that's great, actually they were so hostile or grossed out about it that i pretty much kept it a secret that i watch anime. Except with close friends. I overheard a couple of people talking about it once and they said that it makes people sexist and that they become devil worshipers. No joke, it's very misunderstood and not popular AT ALL around here.

I was in band in high school so I hung out with some of the band kids. I was shunned and/or bullied by just about everyone else so I'm glad I still had friends going through school, even though they proved to be no friends at all when we all graduated.

I pretty much talk to anyone in my school if you approach me. Even if you completely piss me off by saying "Bruh" or "Nigga" after every word I'll still chat if you start it. I guess that's why a lot of people who don't really know me think i'm that hella chill kid who smokes everyday. (Which I don't, I'll never do drugs there just isn't a single benefit in it) I don't hide the fact that I watch anime, but I won't bring it up if you don't ask. I don't really have any problems with any one at my school either. As for who I normally hang with, its either the group of skaters and BMXers that watch anime, are pretty laid back, and hate the hipe and posers. Or the group of gamers that all are swimmers (which is lead by the little brother of a kid in the other group), that i've known since elementary school. Either way we're all a bunch of misfits that fuck around. Its the same thing after school also, we usually just go chill at someones house, roam the streets, or think of something stupid to do. Age doesn't really matter, I hang with people that are freshmen all the way to second year college students. This is just at school though, I also have good friends that don't good to school with.

Was not really limited at all but I guess that is a good thing with being popular. Naturally drawn to certain people you would be with more of course. Can't hang or know everybody...

When I went to high school, I remember there were people who liked anime and some of them were popular too. I don't really like to view people via labels even back then. I remember people more as individuals. The popular kids were mostly nice and everyone was really chill and people just hung around in more or less circles of friends that kind of mesh together rather than cliques. Our class president was also on the football team and took a bunch of AP classes and he was a really nice guy. Our prom queen was also super friendly and nice to everyone. Of course, there were some mean people but I don't remember them and I didn't have to interact much with them.

I had very few friends so often hung around in a small group, and when my best friend wasn't around I kind of just hung around on my own. I never really had anything to tell anyone anyway.

I hung out with anyone, really.

I was on the basketball team so I hung out with my teammates, but I also spent time with the musicians, the geeks and nerds, upperclassmen, etc.

Because I got along with so many, for most of high school I also didn't really have that one group that I would consider my best friends. It wasn't until senior year that I had that established.

Everyone but goodie-two shoes student council people and athletes. I was more attracted to non-Americans and minorities, I guess because I'm one myself even though I'm considered "white", and I was more part of nerd culture. Part of anime club and choir all 4 years.

Art/Photography class was the usual hangout. I enjoyed pottery so much I'd skip all my classes and stay there. I have no idea how I even passed.

Back in high school i played n hung out with the basketball team and with other Jocks i guess you would say, played mult sports but basketball was the favorite, all my teammates were pretty weird lol and that means me too from there view, "pretty sure i was the only one on the team who loved anime & manga". But all in all i hung out with a bit of everyone. The crowd at the games were amazing and a strange mix from, jocks, nerds, goths, car people, artists etc, always glad they came and got along with a variety of people
