Unless there is something new to it in the past 60mins or so he isn't fired just suspended with out pay until further notice.

Oddly though both times he has threatened people was while he was eating. When he was in Australia a few years ago several fans where bugging him and a few other people while eating dinner and there was threats of punches and stuff. So maybe he is food aggressive? Or I don't know likes to eat with out being bugged.

I personally feel there is something more to this. Was the producer bugging him for something. You need to drive the new stupid car by someone. Or said he ate their ice cream.
One car blog posted that the producer said he wanted to bang (not the word actually posted but you get the idea) Clarkson's wife. (But it could have been just something the blog used to get attention though.) Considering they where all drunk I wouldn't be surprised if it was this though. Drunk joke that Clarkson got offended over and started swinging.

Something tells me if he does get fired from the BBC top gear as a group will end up on another network maybe another arm of the BBC will pick it up. 300million fans around the world multi million $ TV broadcast rights so anyone really wouldn't have a problem with getting it.

Yeah read up on it. James and Richard seem to have his back. Even though they say they hate each other and would gladly abandon each other if the opportunity presents itself I think they will leave with him. They'd find a new "Stig" and be off to some new channel or maybe just run a YouTube channel.

I was really looking forward for a long series by them. Usually they had short series, and this series was a long wait. I don't like to take sides, because I don't know what would have made Clarkson punch his producer. But it does suck they suspended Clarkson.

Reports are now it was over dinner. More reliable source then the blog I found yesterday lol.

In short

They arrived late after filming and the hotel chief had already gone home. Clarkson wanted something hot after only getting offered a cold meat platter. He blamed the producer for the mix up.

Surely there was somewhere else that they could have taken him or said hey shop can you send a hot meal to X hotel. Or for the hotel too allow him to cook it himself or a assistant.
Sounds like it was pretty much over nothing and a few simple phone calls would have fixed it even if it was a taxi to another hotel/restaurant.

I know he shouldn't have gotten into punching mode over it. Does sound tall poppy'ish.

A BBC boss is calling for him to be fired permanently over this though. If the guy does get his way chances are it will be moved to another network or whatever.

I hope the show doesn't disappear.... Then we'd have to watch Top Gear (USA) and that would be sad . . . really , really sad.

He'll definitely be back, that shows makes the BBC millions and millions because it is aired all over the world.

Plus, Clarkson has been on his final warning, like, 4 times now and he stayed on the show...

I'm not terribly broken up about it, since I still haven't watched 90% of all the TG episodes there are.

Top Gear?

I'm not gonna lie, he sounds like a douche from what I've heard and read, and this isn't his first strike. They warned him to chill out a few times, and now he's done and gone it again.

So, petition or not, can't change the guy's character.

The last I read he was only suspended but they weren't going to air the remaining two episodes of this season. And I did read this on the BBC website. The allegation was that he punched a producer so I guess I can understand the response.

It's annoying, though. I love that show.

If he really did punch another person working with him in the face he SHOULD get sacked.
And the people who are against this are just selfish only thinking about what they want.
Just imagen working some where and this happens to you then you see 1 million other
people thumbing there nose at you and the problem cause they "like" the other guy... losers

If someone punched me in the face at work I still wouldn't want him to get fired. Like someone else here said, fight back and leave everyone else out of it.

Normally i'd sort of agree but the guy he punched ain't exactly Mr universe here and Clarkson is not a small guy I think if you both of a fighty mentality a scuffle can actually help diffuse some situations and be a bonding thing but when one persons got a clear physical advantage you kinda have to how some discretion. I ain't punching my 60 year old boss who's half my size and expecting him to laugh it off and punch back. Any ways its not going to come to anything here they shout at him he does a apology says he was wrong to punch the guy whole things over in a few weeks.

clarkson is apparently a very racist and arrogant person and, if the allegations are true, also have a violent temper.
and folks want people like him back? i don't even.

If you watch Top Gear you know that his racism and arrogance aren't serious. He literally talks bad about every race on the planet, including Brits, but its obviously a joke and you can tell he isn't serious. As for the arrogance, you can't say you don't jokingly sound like an arrogant prick when talking to your friends about stuff. That's pretty much what he does with Hammond and May.

Some examples of the Racism and how the show is in general:

P.S. the last one wasn't staged

Jezza actually writes a lot of that stuff, too... including the barbs he receives in turn from Hamster and Captain Slow.

No company wants the inevitable lawsuit that will happen from having an environment where violence is considered an ok and acceptable way of solving inter-office conflicts. This is a silly idea to pass off as how it should be.

I'll admit I don't often condone violence, but I'd still be sad to see Jeremy go. He's one of the few guys who can make me laugh.
