Naked unarmed man shot dead by police officer was the cop in the right?

I'm on the cop's side. I mean...the guy was a deranged mess. He was probably on some sort of drug (I forget which one, but it makes you hallucinate and aggressive and strong). If the unarmed man tackled the police officer...he could have strangled him to death, or wrestled for his gun and got it...can't blame the cop for shooting him. He only shot him twice, right? He was just trying to incapacitate him I think. The man just happened to die, though. But the man was deranged and dangerous, and charged a cop. The police officer had a right to fire if it meant saving his own life.

Well, let's not do drugs that cause our minds to melt.

PCP?

Is that what you are thinking of? Or those bath salt which caused people to try and eat other people, alive.

Considering the guy was naked, I think he was harmless. He didn't have anywhere he could store a weapon and use it. It might have been hard taking him out alone, I mean, the guy was climbing on railings and stuff, but I'm sure backup was an option. This is just another reason cops need body cams. Did the guy threaten him in some way, so that the shooting was justified? Questions like that would be answered with those things. ;_;

Probably angel dust or somthing similar. It's difficult to judge the situation without first having been there. The cops are only human and had to make a split-second decision as cops often have to do, and it might have been wrong, but I understand how it happened; would have frightened me a lot. Could they have used a less lethal option to neutralize him, yes, but that's life in the fast lane. I don't envy the police in that role.

Drugs are bad, m'kay? Mister Mackey's advice continues to hold today.

Curiously, why did he not use his taser on the guy? Deadly force is likely a bit excessive in this case, especially for a seven year cop veteran.

If that's true, the cop shouldn't have had a gun, and shouldn't touch one in the future. I feel like just anyone can be a cop nowadays. In a better world, I think people interested in being cops should take extensive mental tests and simulations and have to pass with flying colors.

Tasers doesn't work that well on people that far gone.

Was there an alternative to using a firearm on him?
